Application of rice gene OsbZIP84 in regulation and control of rice growth

Abstract

The invention relates to the technical field of biotechnology and plant genetic engineering, in particular to application of a rice gene OsbZIP84 in regulation and control of rice growth. The nucleotide sequence of the rice gene OsbZIP84 disclosed by the invention is as shown in SEQ ID NO. 1; the regulation of rice growth refers to regulation of rice nitrogen utilization efficiency, seed protein content and rice grain weight and yield. According to the invention, the expression mode of the OsbZIP84 gene in different tissues of rice is identified, and a function deletion mutant of the OsbZIP84 gene is obtained by utilizing a gene editing technology. Compared with a wild type, the function-deleted mutant rice has the advantages that the plant height tiller number is reduced, the thousand seed weight is reduced, the nitrogen utilization rate is reduced, and the seed protein content is reduced under the field high-nitrogen and low-nitrogen conditions. The invention provides a new gene resource and a research basis for rice nitrogen metabolism research and growth regulation and control mechanism research and control.
