Method for treating plastic waste

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for treating plastic waste. The method comprises providing a plastic waste material having a thermoplastic content of at least 50% by weight, heating and melting the plastic waste material by means of a single-shaft single-screw extrusion device, separating unmelted solids from the plastic material melt by means of a filter device, the filtered plastic material melt is further heated by means of a multi-shaft extrusion device. Furthermore, after further heating by means of the multi-shaft extrusion device, the filtered plastic material melt is conveyed into a continuous pyrolyzing furnace reactor and pyrolyzed in the continuous pyrolyzing furnace reactor at a pyrolysis temperature. The filtered plastic material melt is heated by means of the multi-shaft extrusion device to a temperature that outputs from 50 DEG C lower to 20 DEG C higher than the pyrolysis temperature in the continuous pyrolyzing furnace reactor before being transported into the continuous pyrolyzing furnace reactor.
