Abstract

This invention discloses a high-current ion source device and ion generation and extraction method for electromagnetic separation of C-14 isotopes. The device includes an ion source body and systems such as a high-temperature superconducting coil, vacuum, gas injection, high-voltage power supply, ion filtering, and beam analysis. The ion source body is sequentially arranged along its axis with an electron gun, a drift tube assembly, an electron collecting electrode, and an ion extracting electrode. The high-temperature superconducting coil is sleeved outside the drift tube, generating a continuously adjustable axial magnetic field to confine the electron beam. An electrostatic lens is located downstream of the ion extracting electrode, focusing the electron beam and filtering it through a Wien filter to obtain single-charge-state C ions, which are monitored in real time by a Faraday cup. This invention, through wide-range adjustable electron beam energy, continuously adjustable magnetic field, electrostatic lens focusing, and Wien filter filtering, stably outputs a single-charge-state C ion beam with a current intensity as high as 20 mA and a charge-state purity significantly superior to that of traditional ECR sources, solving the problems of low purity, large footprint, and high maintenance costs of existing technologies.
