Lightweight aggregate and method for preparing lightweight aggregate

Abstract

The invention discloses a light aggregate and a preparation method of the light aggregate. The preparation method comprises the following steps: a material preparation step: collecting a predetermined raw material with a particle size of 75 [mu] m or less from a predetermined silty raw material; a strip making step: making the predetermined raw material into at least one mud strip under the condition that a foaming agent or a gas forming substance is not additionally added or mixed; an extruding and granulating step: extruding and granulating the at least one mud strip into a plurality of raw material balls with preset particle sizes in a particle size range of 2-30 mm under a vacuum condition; and a sintering step, namely sintering the raw material balls which are not additionally added or mixed with the foaming agent or the gas-forming substance in a rotary kiln through a preheating section, a sintering section and a cooling section in sequence to form a plurality of light granules. The preset sintering temperature of the sintering section is between 1120 DEG C and 1160 DEG C.
