Abstract

This application belongs to the field of millimeter-wave antennas, specifically relating to a millimeter-wave array antenna based on micro-coaxial transmission technology. The antenna element includes at least one antenna unit, comprising a four-layer structure: from bottom to top, the first layer consists of a first metal ground plane and a micro-coaxial transmission line; the second layer consists of a dielectric substrate, feeding metal pillars, multiple metal pillar vias rectangularly distributed along the edges, and multiple metal vias arranged around the center; the third layer consists of a second metal ground plane, a hollowed-out area at the center of the second metal ground plane, and a feeding metal strip located within the hollowed-out area; and the fourth layer consists of an antenna element and four surrounding metal sidewalls. Each air micro-coaxial line individually feeds and modulates the amplitude and phase of an all-metal antenna. Multiple air micro-coaxial fed all-metal antennas can form a phased array antenna. Using air micro-coaxial lines to feed the all-metal antenna array results in millimeter-wave array antennas with lower transmission loss, higher radiation efficiency, and greater bandwidth.
