Electric heating device and method for producing the same

Abstract

The invention relates to an electric heating device (2), in particular for a motor vehicle, having an at least partially electrically conductive housing (6) and a cover (34) formed from sheet metal, a circumferential recess (36) being provided on an end face of the housing, the cover closing the housing (6), wherein an adhesive (50) is introduced into the recess (36) and the cover (34) has a circumferential edge (38) which engages in the recess (36) in such a way that the edge of the cover (34) dips into the adhesive (50) in the circumferential direction. The sealing and fastening of the cover (34) relative to the housing (6) is improved by the fact that the edge (38) is in contact with a surface (42) which laterally delimits the recess (36) and is arranged at a distance from an opposite surface (44) of the recess (36).
