Bifidobacterium longum subsp. infantis with improved cognitive function and application thereof

Abstract

The present application belongs to the technical field of microorganisms, and particularly relates to a Bifidobacterium longum subsp. infantis with improved cognitive function and application thereof. The Bifidobacterium longum subsp. infantis with improved cognitive function provided by the present application is named Bifidobacterium longum subsp. infantis BD223, is preserved in the Guangdong Microbial Culture Collection Center, and has a preservation date of February 9, 2026 and a preservation number of GDMCC No: 67827. The Bifidobacterium longum subsp. infantis provided by the present application has the ability to produce 5-methyltetrahydrofolate at a high yield. Further, the postbiotic preparation prepared by fermentation of the Bifidobacterium longum subsp. infantis is rich in active folic acid of natural origin, can supplement key methyl donors required for brain development through a natural biological pathway, and thus effectively improves cognitive ability and solves the problems of limited absorption and safety of chemically synthesized folic acid.
