Abstract

This application provides a battery cell comprising: a housing having a first opening; an electrode assembly housed within the housing, the electrode assembly having a first tab, a second tab, and a third tab, the first tab and the second tab having opposite polarities, and the third tab having the same polarity as either the first tab or the second tab; an end cap for closing the first opening; and an insulating member disposed between the end cap and the electrode assembly; wherein the third tab is configured to connect to the insulating member. This application, through the additionally configured heat dissipation path of electrode assembly-third tab-insulator-end cap, can improve the heat dissipation efficiency of the battery cell, thereby improving the battery cell's overcurrent capacity and safety performance.
