An essential oil component-chitosan oligosaccharide composite assembly, a preparation method and application thereof

Abstract

This invention relates to the field of antibacterial materials technology, and in particular to an essential oil component-chitosan oligosaccharide composite assembly, its preparation method, and its applications. The composite assembly comprises an essential oil component and chitosan oligosaccharides, which are bonded together by intermolecular forces, including electrostatic interactions, hydrogen bonds, and hydrophobic interactions. The essential oil component-chitosan oligosaccharide composite assembly provided by this invention combines the membrane interference properties of the essential oil component with the membrane adsorption and penetration capabilities of the chitosan oligosaccharide. The synergistic effect of these two components exhibits excellent antibacterial activity against both *Escherichia coli* and *Staphylococcus aureus*, with a significantly reduced minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). The raw materials for this composite assembly are naturally sourced, have good biocompatibility, and the preparation process is simple and mild, showing broad application prospects in the preparation of antibacterial products or oral care products.
