This invention provides an air velocity sensor based on ionization discharge, comprising: a discharge tip electrode for pulsed ionization discharge of air to form charged particles; a high-voltage pulse generator for providing a pulse voltage to the discharge tip electrode; a detection probe for detecting charged particles that move with the airflow after being ionized by the discharge tip electrode and generating an electrical signal; a signal amplifier for amplifying the electrical signal; and a time difference measurement unit for calculating the flight time of charged particles from the discharge tip electrode to the detection probe based on the time difference between the pulse voltage generated by the high-voltage pulse generator and the electrical signal generated by the detection probe, and calculating the air velocity based on the distance between the discharge tip electrode and the detection probe and the flight time. This invention can achieve high-precision measurement of air velocity and direction, and the measurement is independent of environmental parameters such as air temperature, density, and air pressure, ensuring high measurement accuracy under different environmental conditions.
