The method includes: acquiring lightning calculation data within the UHV line area and calculating lightning parameters using the lightning calculation data; calculating surge arrester operating parameters matching the lightning parameters based on the lightning parameters; calculating surge arrester installation data based on the UHV line parameters; constructing a surge arrester lightning protection simulation model based on the lightning parameters, surge arrester operating parameters, and surge arrester installation data; calculating the lightning trip rate of the UHV line based on the surge arrester lightning protection simulation model; and configuring the surge arrester according to the operating parameters and surge arrester installation data when the lightning trip rate is less than a preset threshold. This achieves adaptation to lightning parameters and various environments.
