Method for continuous casting of steel

Abstract

A continuous casting method for steel is provided, capable of suppressing variations in reduction speed in a region where the central solids fraction of a casting sheet is 0.7 to 1.0 or less. The continuous casting method for steel, which uses a light reduction strip for light reduction and casting of a casting sheet, wherein, along the length direction of the casting sheet, the operating conditions of the continuous casting machine are used to continuously predict the region where the central solids fraction of the casting sheet is 0.7 to 1.0 or less, and the roll opening of the light reduction strip is dynamically changed in such a way that the variation in light reduction speed in this region is below a predetermined value.
