A data processing method and a data processing apparatus

Abstract

This application relates to a data processing method and a data processing apparatus, belonging to the field of data processing technology. The method is applied to a data processing apparatus, which includes an instruction issuing circuit, a vector arithmetic logic unit (VALU), and a scalar arithmetic logic unit (SALU). The method includes: the instruction issuing circuit receiving at least one instruction, the at least one instruction including a first instruction; when the first instruction carries tag information, the instruction issuing circuit sends the first instruction to the VALU for execution, the tag information indicating that the first instruction is executed by the VALU; when the first instruction does not carry tag information, the instruction issuing circuit sends the first instruction to either the VALU or the SALU for execution based on the source operand of the first instruction. This reduces power consumption.
