Abstract

The invention relates to a road vehicle with active suspension units, comprising a chassis, two front wheels, two rear wheels, an active front suspension unit acting on the front wheels and / or an active rear suspension unit acting on the rear wheels; the active front suspension unit and / or the active rear suspension unit comprising: a first and a second swing arm coupled to the chassis from opposite sides along a pitch axis and rotatable around a corresponding pin; a first and a second suspension arm each having a first end coupled to the corresponding swing arm on the wheel side and a second end coupled to the corresponding wheel; an active rod damper having a variable length along an axis parallel to the pitch axis, the damper having a first end coupled to one of the two swing arms and a second end coupled to the other swing arm; a crossbar bridging the two swing arms; an electric motor acting directly on the rod to control the rotation of the rod along an axis parallel to the axis of the pin and thus to produce a coordinated rotation of the two swing arms.
