Abstract

The application provides a current control method and device of a display panel, a chip, an equipment, a storage medium and a computer program product. The method comprises the following steps: obtaining a display brightness value and a pixel point brightness rate; determining whether the display brightness value and the pixel point brightness rate meet a preset high current condition; when the preset high current condition is met, performing negative overdrive compensation; the negative overdrive compensation comprises the following steps: obtaining a gamma data pair, the gamma data pair comprising historical gamma data of a historical frame and current gamma data of a current frame; obtaining a target compensation value based on the gamma data pair; the target compensation value and the gamma data pair have a corresponding relationship; performing negative compensation on the current gamma data according to the target compensation value to obtain target gamma data; and the target gamma data is used for realizing current control of the current frame. In this way, the power supply chip can be prevented from being burnt out, and the potential risk of hardware damage can be reduced.
