Abstract
An occlusive implant system includes a core wire having a lumen extending therethrough, an occlusive implant including an expandable frame releasably coupled to a distal end of the core wire, and an elongate filament extending along the core wire to the frame. The elongate filament extends into an interior of the frame. At least one expandable foam can be configured to slide along the elongate filament into the interior of the frame in a compressed configuration. The at least one expandable foam is configured to transition to an expanded configuration within the interior of the frame. The system can include a retention structure that retains the at least one expandable foam in the compressed configuration within the frame, wherein the retention structure is engaged with the frame. The elongate filament can extend into the interior of the frame and be coupled to the retention structure.
