Pedal device

Abstract

A pedal device is provided in which a pedal pad (40) oscillates around a predetermined axis (CL) by being pressed down by the driver's foot. A sensor unit (50) outputs a signal corresponding to the oscillation angle of the pedal pad (40). A reaction force generating mechanism (30) has elastic members (31-34) that generate a reaction force relative to the driver's pedaling force applied to the pedal pad (40). A first housing (10) covers the reaction force generating mechanism (30) and has an opening on at least one side. A second housing (20) is disposed on the side of the first housing (10) in the direction in which the pedal pad (40) oscillates. Furthermore, the first housing (10) is configured such that the side on which the second housing (20) is disposed has a maximum opening (15) capable of inserting the elastic members (31-34) of the reaction force generating mechanism (30) in a non-deflecting state, and this maximum opening (15) is closed by the second housing (20).
