An ultra-wideband double balanced mixer

By introducing asymmetric three-port and four-port balun structures and optimizing impedance distribution, the problem of matching difficulties of traditional baluns in wide bandwidth is solved, and the performance of ultra-wideband mixers is improved, especially in terms of high isolation and low loss in the 2-26.5GHz range.

Abstract

The application provides an ultra-wideband double balanced mixer, and relates to the field of monolithic integrated microwave circuits. The ultra-wideband double balanced mixer comprises an asymmetric three-port balun, an asymmetric four-port balun, a diode ring and an intermediate frequency matching circuit.A radio frequency signal is converted into a differential signal through the asymmetric three-port balun, and a local oscillator signal is converted into a differential signal through the asymmetric four-port balun. The radio frequency differential signal and the local oscillator differential signal are simultaneously input into the diode ring, and an intermediate frequency signal is drawn from a secondary center tap of the asymmetric four-port balun and output after passing through the intermediate frequency matching circuit. The application effectively improves the wideband matching characteristics of the input port of the double balanced mixer and significantly widens the bandwidth of the double balanced mixer.
