A device is also needed to prevent improper use of the cradle directly on the bed or other unstable surfaces. Summary of the Invention
[0006] A cradle typically includes any type of enclosure that allows the baby to sleep or rest near the caregiver. A cradle basically consists of some kind of support structure and an enclosure that usually includes some kind of soft, supportive surface for the baby.
[0007] It is advantageous that the cradle can be removed or disassembled from the cradle frame or other supporting structure. However, once the cradle is removed, the user may decide to use it improperly in ways that could harm the baby (e.g., placing the cradle on an unstable surface such as a sofa). Other issues include placing and using the cradle on narrow or unstable surfaces. A wider footprint is also needed for increased stability when used separately from a playpen or support.
