Methods and devices for activating and deactivating measurement prediction at the terminal side using artificial intelligence and machine learning in wireless communication systems

Abstract

This disclosure relates to 5G or 6G communication systems for supporting higher data transmission rates. The method, performed by a terminal of the wireless communication system, may include the following steps: receiving a first message from a base station, the first message including configuration information for measurement prediction based on artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI / ML); based on the configuration information, sending a second message to the base station for reporting the applicability of the AI / ML-based measurement prediction; identifying that the AI / ML-based measurement prediction has been activated; and sending a report to the base station regarding the results of the activated AI / ML-based measurement prediction.
