Description

Technical Field

[0001] This invention relates to the field of electronic products powered by built-in batteries used in daily life, and particularly to a dual-circuit power supply system and control method for battery-powered products consisting of a built-in battery and an external power source. Background Technology

[0002] Modern society widely uses products powered by built-in batteries, such as smart door locks, wall clocks, and remote controls. During the use of these products, batteries need to be constantly replaced when they run out, causing anxiety for users who worry about the battery running out. Furthermore, discarded batteries pollute the environment. In view of this, this invention innovatively proposes a dual-circuit power supply system for battery-powered products, combining a built-in battery with an external power source. This invention allows the product to prioritize external power, switching to the built-in battery when the external power supply is insufficient. Thus, during product use, external power is prioritized, and the built-in battery can serve as a backup or be used directly from the external power source without replacement. The system and method provided by this invention can achieve both external main power and built-in battery backup power without disassembling the product, thereby reducing the frequency of built-in battery replacements, alleviating user anxiety about the product's inability to function after battery depletion, and reducing the cost of building-in battery replacements and the environmental impact of discarded batteries. [0031] In one implementation, a schematic diagram of the principle is shown below. Figure 9As shown, the power supply switching control circuit 32 further includes a detection unit 52 and a processing control unit 53. The switching execution unit 51 includes a first positive switching device branch 515 and a second positive switching device branch 516. The first power supply negative terminal P1-, the second power supply negative terminal P2-, and the load negative terminal L- are connected to a common negative terminal node. The first positive switching device branch 515 is located between the first power supply positive terminal P1+ and the load positive terminal L+. The second positive switching device branch 516 is located between the second power supply positive terminal P2+ and the load positive terminal L+. The detection unit 52 is connected to the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-), the second power interface P2 (P2+ and P2-), and the processing control unit 53. The processing control unit 53 is connected to the detection unit 52, the first positive switching device branch 515, and the second positive switching device branch 516. The connection is as follows: the detection unit 52 detects the voltage parameters of the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-) and the second power interface P2 (P2+ and P2-); the processing control unit 53 outputs a control signal according to the voltage parameters; and the switching execution unit 51 selectively connects the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-) or the second power interface P2 (P2+ and P2-) to the load interface L (L+ and L-) according to the control signal. When the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-) is connected to the load interface L (L+ and L-), the first positive switching device branch 515 is turned on and the second positive switching device branch 516 is turned off. When the second power interface P2 (P2+ and P2-) is connected to the load interface L (L+ and L-), the second positive switching device branch 516 is turned on and the first positive switching device branch 515 is turned off. When necessary, the first positive switching device branch 515 and the second positive switching device branch 516 are shut off, and the load interface L (L+ and L-) is de-energized. The second power supply negative terminal P2- and the load negative terminal L- are connected together, that is, the negative power supply surface 111 and the negative load surface 113 of the negative electrode 11 need to be electrically connected. This electrical connection can be established through a conductor line, or the negative electrode 11 can be made into a single conductor to achieve the electrical connection.

[0032] In one implementation, a schematic diagram of the principle is shown below. Figure 10As shown, the power supply switching control circuit 32 further includes a detection unit 52 and a processing control unit 53. The switching execution unit 51 includes a first negative switching device branch 517 and a second negative switching device branch 518. The first power supply positive terminal P1+, the second power supply positive terminal P2+, and the load positive terminal L+ are connected to a common positive terminal node. The first negative switching device branch 517 is located between the first power supply negative terminal P1- and the load negative terminal L-. The second negative switching device branch 518 is located between the second power supply negative terminal P2- and the load negative terminal L-. The detection unit 52 is connected to the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-), the second power interface P2 (P2+ and P2-), and the processing control unit 53. The processing control unit 53 is connected to the detection unit 52, the first negative switching device branch 517, and the second negative switching device branch 518. The detection unit 52 detects the voltage parameters of the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-) and the second power interface P2 (P2+ and P2-). The processing control unit 53 outputs a control signal based on the voltage parameters. The switching execution unit 51 selectively connects the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-) or the second power interface P2 (P2+ and P2-) to the load interface L (L+ and L-) based on the control signal. When the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-) is connected to the load interface L (L+ and L-), the first negative switching device branch 517 is turned on and the second negative switching device branch 518 is turned off. When the second power interface P2 (P2+ and P2-) is connected to the load interface L (L+ and L-), the second negative switching device branch 518 is turned on and the first negative switching device branch 517 is turned off. When necessary, the first negative switch branch 517 and the second negative switch branch 518 are shut off, and the load interface L (L+ and L-) is de-energized. The second power supply positive terminal P2+ and the load positive terminal L+ are connected together, meaning that the positive power supply surface 121 and the positive load surface 123 of the positive electrode 12 need to be electrically connected. This electrical connection can be established through a conductor line, or the positive electrode 12 can be made into a single conductor to achieve the electrical connection.

[0033] Furthermore, the switching devices in the first positive switching device branch 515, the second positive switching device branch 516, the first negative switching device branch 517, and the second negative switching device branch 518 include one or more of field-effect transistors, relays, and bipolar transistors.

[0034] In various implementations, there may be situations where the DC power supply voltage does not match the load's power supply requirements. In such cases, a voltage matching unit needs to be added. See the schematic diagram for reference. Figure 11 and Figure 12 As shown. The voltage matching unit 54 is a functional unit for realizing DC-DC conversion, and is located between the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-) and the switching execution unit 51. The output of the voltage matching unit is set to a value that matches the operating voltage range of the load.

[0035] Furthermore, when the voltage matching unit employs a common-negative DC-DC converter circuit with an enable function, the circuit schematic diagram is as follows: Figure 13 As shown, the DC-DC converter chip used in the common negative DC-DC converter circuit 55 generally contains a corresponding switching transistor and a function module to prevent reverse current flow. The DC-DC converter chip controls the corresponding switching transistor inside the chip through an enable switch. In this way, the processing and control unit 53 controls the second positive switching device branch 516 and the enable switch of the common negative DC-DC converter chip (further controlled by the first positive switching device branch 517 built into the DC-DC converter chip) to selectively turn on the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-) or the second power interface P2 (P2+ and P2-) to the load interface L (L+ and L-).

[0036] A dual-circuit power supply control method for a battery-powered product, consisting of a built-in battery and an external power source, is described, including the power supply switching control circuit's control state and related switching process, as shown in the flowchart below. Figure 14 As shown, the following states and processes are included: S01: Initialization state, select the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-) or the second power interface P2 (P2+ and P2-) to be connected to the load interface L (L+ and L-); S02: Data acquisition state, the voltage of the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-) is acquired as the first voltage, and the voltage of the second power interface P2 (P2+ and P2-) is acquired as the second voltage; S03, S04: Determine the execution state. When the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-) supplies power to the load interface, the first voltage is lower than the first preset voltage, and the second voltage is higher than the second preset voltage. Select the second power interface P2 (P2+ and P2-) to conduct to the load interface L (L+ and L-), and then return to the acquisition state S02. S03, S05: Determine the execution state. If it is not the state where the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-) supplies power to the load interface, that is, the state where the second power interface P2 (P2+ and P2-) supplies power to the load interface, and the first voltage is higher than the third preset voltage, select the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-) to conduct to the load interface L (L+ and L-), and then return to the acquisition state S02.

[0037] In actual implementation, voltage acquisition typically includes a filtering algorithm to filter out fluctuations in the acquired voltage. A first preset voltage is compared with a first preset voltage when the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-) disconnects the load interface L (L+ and L-). A third preset voltage is compared with a third preset voltage when the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-) supplies power to the load interface L (L+ and L-). Generally, the third preset voltage is greater than or equal to the first preset voltage; this is a clear characteristic of the power supply recovery at the first power interface P1 (P1+ and P1-).

[0038] Furthermore, the thin flexible conductive component 13 needs to have conductive lines, flexible features, and be able to pass through the gap between the battery compartment and the battery box cover. The thin flexible conductive component 13 uses a flexible printed circuit board (FPC) or a flexible die-cutting circuit (FDC). The flexible printed circuit board (FPC) or flexible die-cutting circuit (FDC) has a flexible structure that allows conductive materials to be laid on the structure. Commonly used ones can achieve a thickness of 0.1 mm, which fully meets the requirements of the thin flexible conductive component 13.

[0039] Furthermore, the thin flexible conductive component 13 needs to be conductive, flexible, and able to pass through the gap between the battery compartment and the battery box cover. The thin flexible conductive component 13 uses a flexible flat cable (FFC). Flexible flat cable (FFC) has a flexible structure and can lay conductive material on the structure. Commonly used ones can achieve a thickness of 0.1 mm, which fully meets the requirements of the thin flexible conductive component 13.

[0040] Furthermore, the negative electrode 11 and the positive electrode 12 are characterized by being composed of a double-sided conductive layer and an intermediate insulating layer. The top and bottom layers of the flexible printed circuit board (FPC) or flexible die-cutting circuit (FDC) are made as surface conductive layers, which serve as the negative power supply surface 111 and negative load surface 113, and the positive power supply surface 121 and positive load surface 123, respectively. An insulating layer exists between the top and bottom layers, satisfying the structural requirements of the negative and positive electrode 11 and the positive electrode 12. This implementation allows the negative electrode 11, the positive electrode 12, and the thin flexible conductive component 13 to be made of the same material, reducing structural complexity and cost.

[0041] The key point of this invention is that the negative power supply and negative load of the battery pack of the battery-powered product are electrically connected through the negative electrode 11, and the positive power supply and positive load of the battery pack of the battery-powered product are electrically connected through the positive electrode 12. The exported negative power supply, negative load, positive power supply and positive load are connected to the thin flexible conductive component 13. Then, the thin flexible conductive component 13 passes through the gap between the battery compartment and the battery box cover of the battery-powered product to establish the exported electrical control and connection relationship between the internal power supply terminal and the internal load terminal of the battery-powered product and the external power supply device. In this way, the power supply switching control circuit 32 can control the conduction circuit to preferentially select the external power supply device 14 to supply power to the load in the battery-powered product, and assist in selecting the built-in battery pack 23 of the battery-powered product to supply power to the load in the battery-powered product.

[0042] The thin, flexible conductive component 13 can easily pass through the gap between the battery compartment 221 and the battery box cover 212 of the battery-powered product, and it can also be easily deformed and folded during installation for user convenience.

[0043] The power supply switching control circuit 32 is a circuit that works in conjunction with materials, structure, and installation method to achieve the entire function. The implementation methods include, but are not limited to, circuits that are set separately in the external power supply device 14, circuits set in the external power supply device 14 and circuits set on the thin flexible conductive component 13 working together, and circuits that are set separately on the thin flexible conductive component 13.

[0044] The external DC power supply 31 refers to a power supply with power supply capability, including but not limited to DC power after passing through a power conversion module, DC power input through an interface, DC power provided by power generation equipment and components, and DC power provided by energy storage equipment and components. DC power provided by energy storage equipment and components includes power provided by lithium batteries, lithium battery packs, etc.

[0045] When the external DC power supply 31 provides DC power to the energy storage device and components, including power from lithium batteries, lithium battery packs, etc., the detection unit and control switching unit of the present invention detect the battery voltage by detecting the approximate charge value corresponding to the battery voltage, and determine whether to switch the power supply to the load in the battery-powered device based on the approximate charge value.

[0046] The detection unit in this invention is often implemented using an ADC, and the control switching unit is generally implemented using an MCU. Commonly used MCUs on the market usually have built-in ADCs, so the detection unit and the control switching unit are often implemented using MCUs that include ADCs.

[0047] This invention can also enable an external power supply device to supply power to the load in the battery-powered device when the built-in battery of the battery-powered device is in a state of no voltage, such as when a model battery of the same size as the original battery is installed or a battery that is completely depleted.

[0048] The system structure and technical principles of the present invention have been described above with reference to specific embodiments. Since the dual-circuit power supply switching control circuit can take many forms, the embodiments illustrate the main implementation forms. Different control methods can be mixed through positive and negative control branches, but these are not described in the embodiments. Therefore, these descriptions are only for explaining the system and principles of the present invention and should not be construed as limiting the scope of protection of the present invention in any way. Based on this explanation, those skilled in the art can conceive of other specific embodiments of the present invention without creative effort, and these embodiments will all fall within the scope of protection of the present invention.
