[0015] The following disclosure provides several different implementations or examples for carrying out this application. To simplify the disclosure of this application, specific examples of components and methods are described below. Of course, these are merely examples and are not intended to limit this application. In the description of the embodiments of this application, "multiple" means at least two, such as two, three, etc., unless otherwise explicitly specified.

[0016] In related technologies, in the high-temperature environment (above 500°C) of nuclear reactor operation, traditional electromagnetic pumps rely on winding coils, which suffer from problems such as insulation failure, Joule heat loss, low reliability, and low space utilization efficiency. Furthermore, the coils have insufficient high-temperature resistance, resulting in short service life for electromagnetic pumps operating in high-temperature environments with little maintenance for extended periods.

[0017] To address the aforementioned technical problems, embodiments of this application provide, in one aspect, an electromagnetic pump suitable for transporting liquid metal coolants. Figure 1 This is a schematic diagram of an electromagnetic pump provided in an embodiment of this application. Figure 2 This is a schematic diagram of the longitudinal axial cross-sectional structure of the electromagnetic pump provided in an embodiment of this application, as shown below. Figure 1 , Figure 2 As shown, it includes: a drive assembly 110, a magnetizing assembly 120, a transport pipe 130, and a support assembly 140; the drive assembly 110 is configured to drive the magnetizing assembly 120 to rotate, so that the magnetizing assembly 120 generates an alternating magnetic field; the magnetizing assembly 120 is configured to generate an alternating magnetic field, so that the liquid metal coolant in the transport pipe 130 flows; the transport pipe 130 is configured to provide an extended flow path for the liquid metal coolant under sealed conditions; the support assembly 140 is configured to support the drive assembly 110 and the magnetizing assembly 120 when the drive assembly 110 and the magnetizing assembly 120 move; the drive assembly 110 and the magnetizing assembly 120 are disposed on the support assembly 140.

[0018] The electromagnetic pump 100 provided in the embodiments of this application, through the cooperation between the drive component 110, the magnetizing component 120, the transport pipe 130, and the support component 140, drives the magnetizing component 120 to generate an alternating magnetic field, thereby causing the liquid metal coolant in the transport pipe 130 to flow. The transport pipe 130 can provide an extended flow path for the liquid metal coolant flowing over long distances under sealed conditions. This extended flow path increases the head of the electromagnetic pump 100 and enhances the magnetic circuit efficiency, meeting the stable and long-term transport requirements of high-temperature liquid metal coolant in the power system under vacuum conditions. Thus, it improves the efficiency and convenience of coolant transport and extends the service life of the electromagnetic pump 100.

[0019] In some embodiments, such as Figure 1As shown, the drive assembly 110 includes a drive member 111 and a rotating member 112; the rotating member 112 is configured to rotate under the drive of the drive member 111, thereby driving the magnetizing assembly 120 to rotate, so that the magnetizing assembly 120 generates an alternating magnetic field; the rotating member 112 is disposed on the support assembly 140.

[0020] In such an embodiment, specifically, the driving component 111 can be a coupling connected to an external motor, which drives the rotating component 112 to rotate by transmitting the electric driving force of the external motor. Preferably, the selection of the model of the driving component 111 should match the structural dimensions of the rotating component 112 and the actual operating conditions of the electromagnetic pump 100. For example, under low-speed conditions, a rigid coupling with simple structure and high transmission efficiency is selected; under high-speed conditions, a sleek coupling with compact structure and excellent elastic compensation performance, or a diaphragm coupling with high precision and excellent high-temperature resistance is selected. For example, the sleek coupling has a compact structure and realizes the transmission of electric power through a sleek metal elastomer, which can well compensate for the structural deviation of the component docking in the power transmission and is suitable for a wider range of force transmission.

[0021] In such an embodiment, preferably, the rotating component 112 should have good heat dissipation and self-cooling performance.

[0022] The embodiments of this application set the driving component 111 to drive the rotating component 112 to rotate, which in turn drives the magnetizing component 120 to rotate, so that the magnetizing component 120 generates an alternating magnetic field. This enables the magnetizing component 120 to rotate coaxially around the rotating component 112, avoiding rotation dispersion and misalignment. As a result, the concentration of the generated alternating magnetic field is improved and the stability of the device is maintained.

[0023] In some embodiments, such as Figure 2 As shown, the magnetizing assembly 120 includes: a permanent magnet 121, a magnetic conductor 122, and a mating component 123; the magnetic conductor 122 is configured to provide a closed magnetic circuit to the permanent magnet 121, and the mating component 123 is configured to fixably connect the permanent magnet 121 and the rotating component 112; the permanent magnet 121 is configured to rotate under the drive of the driving assembly 110 through the mating component 123 and generate an alternating magnetic field to cause the liquid metal coolant in the transport pipe 130 to flow; the magnetic conductor 122 is disposed on the support assembly 140.

[0024] In such embodiments, preferably, the material of the permanent magnet 121 should be selected based on the conditions of transporting the liquid metal, comprehensively considering its magnetic properties, thermal stability, and mechanical strength. For example, when the temperature of the liquid metal working fluid is below 120°C, AlNiCo or SmCo permanent magnet materials are preferred; when the working fluid temperature is above 120°C, SmCo permanent magnet materials are preferred. The preferred SmCo permanent magnet material is of type 2:17, which has high remanent magnetic flux density, excellent high-temperature resistance, a maximum operating temperature of 550°C, and excellent energy product. For the fabrication of the SmCo permanent magnet 121, after powder metallurgy pressing, sintering, and heat treatment, a nickel plating layer of approximately 10 μm thickness is prepared on its surface using a chemical process to improve the weather resistance of the permanent magnet 121.

[0025] In such an embodiment, preferably, the permanent magnet 121 should have good heat dissipation and self-cooling performance.

[0026] In this embodiment, specifically, the material of the magnetic conductor 122 should possess high permeability and low hysteresis loss to provide a closed magnetic circuit for the permanent magnet 121 and increase the magnetic flux density within the transport pipe 130. The magnetic conductor 122 can be core-type (e.g., steel sheet stacked structure) or coreless (e.g., toroidal iron structure). Preferably, for a constant magnetic field system, a coreless magnetic conductor 122 made of pure iron is preferred; for a traveling wave magnetic field system, a core-type magnetic conductor 122 with a steel sheet stacked structure is preferred. For the core-type magnetic conductor 122 with a steel sheet stacked structure, an electrical steel sheet made of iron-cobalt alloy is preferred, with the electrical steel sheets stacked radially to form a circular integral structure; preferably, the electrical steel sheet should have a high-temperature radiation-resistant coating with a thickness of 0.2mm to 0.5mm, with an example of 0.35mm.

[0027] In such an embodiment, specifically, the material of the mating part 123 is preferably 304 or 316 austenitic stainless steel, which is high in strength and resistant to high temperatures.

[0028] In such an embodiment, specifically, the mating member 123 is configured to fix the permanent magnet 121 on the rotating member 112. When the rotating member 112 rotates, it simultaneously drives the permanent magnet 121 and the mating member 123 to rotate together. Furthermore, a gasket is provided between the mating member 123 and the permanent magnet 121. Preferably, the material of the gasket can be elastic mica to prevent the stress generated by the thermal expansion of the permanent magnet 121 from being unable to be released.

[0029] The embodiments of this application simplify the structure of the electromagnetic pump 100 by replacing the coil of the electromagnetic pump 100 in the prior art with a permanent magnet 121, thereby overcoming the defect of insufficient coil temperature resistance from the root and ensuring the reliability and lifespan of the electromagnetic pump 100 during long-term high-temperature service.

[0030] The embodiments of this application provide a closed magnetic circuit for the permanent magnet 121 by setting the magnetic conductor 122, which can strengthen and maintain the magnetic field generated by the rotation of the permanent magnet 121 under the drive of the rotating member 112, thereby ensuring the speed and continuity of liquid metal coolant transportation.

[0031] The embodiments of this application use a mating part 123 to fix the permanent magnet 121 and the rotating part 112, so that the permanent magnet 121 can rotate evenly under the drive of the rotating part 112, and also play a role in protecting and fixing the permanent magnet 121, effectively releasing the thermal stress of the permanent magnet 121, thereby extending the service life of the electromagnetic pump 100.

[0032] In some embodiments, see Figure 2 and Figure 3 , Figure 3 This is a schematic diagram of the short axial cross-sectional structure of the electromagnetic pump 100 provided in the embodiments of this application, as shown below. Figure 2 and Figure 3 As shown, the permanent magnet 121 and the magnetic conductor 122 are arranged to be spaced apart from the transport pipe 130 so that the magnetic field generated by the permanent magnet 121 fully surrounds the transport pipe 130.

[0033] In such an embodiment, specifically, there is no mechanical structural connection between the transport pipe 130 and the permanent magnet 121 and the magnetic conductive element 122. When transporting high-temperature liquid metal, the internal volume of the transport pipe 130 is full and expands when heated, and the outer wall contacts the magnetic conductive element 122, which can maximize the influence of the magnetic field on the liquid metal inside the transport pipe 130.

[0034] The embodiments of this application use permanent magnets 121 and magnetic conductors 122 to space the transport pipe 130, so that the magnetic field fully surrounds the transport pipe 130, which can maximize the influence of the magnetic field on the liquid metal inside the transport pipe 130, thereby enabling the liquid metal coolant in the transport pipe 130 to flow effectively and quickly, thus meeting the needs of long-distance transport of liquid metal coolant.

[0035] In some embodiments, see Figure 2 The transport pipeline 130 is configured in a spiral shape to allow the liquid metal coolant to flow over long distances under sealed conditions.

[0036] In such an embodiment, specifically, the transport pipe 130 is designed as a spiral configuration, which can increase the total length of the flow channel of the transport pipe 130 while shortening the axial dimension of the transport pipe 130, and increase the surface area of the transport pipe 130 wall in contact with the magnetic field to enhance the magnetic field confinement.

[0037] In such an embodiment, specifically, the spiral structure is configured such that the rectangular pipe and the circular pipe are welded together using a transition piece with a different diameter.

[0038] In such an embodiment, specifically, the transport pipeline 130 is made of seamless stainless steel, preferably high-reliability austenitic stainless steels such as 304, 321, and 316, for example, 316 or 316H austenitic stainless steel. This material has good high-temperature mechanical properties and is compatible with the working fluid of liquid metal.

[0039] In such an embodiment, preferably, in order to ensure that the transport pipeline 130 is not damaged by high temperature, the operating temperature of the transport pipeline 130 is preferably not more than 525°C, and it is allowed to operate at 550°C for a short time.

[0040] The embodiments of this application, by setting the transport pipe 130 to a spiral shape and correspondingly setting the structure, material and operating temperature of the spiral transport pipe 130, ensure the safety of the transport pipe 130 and its close cooperation with the magnetizing component 120, thereby effectively extending the transport channel of liquid metal, optimizing the spatial layout and improving the magnetic field efficiency, and increasing the pumping head of the electromagnetic pump 100 for transporting liquid metal.

[0041] In some embodiments, such as Figure 1 , Figure 2 , Figure 3 As shown, the support assembly 140 includes: a rotary positioning member 141, a receiving member 142, and a support member 143; the rotating member 112 of the drive assembly 110 is fixedly mounted on the rotary positioning member 141, and the rotary positioning member 141 is configured to protect the rotating member 112 when it rotates; the magnetically conductive member 122 of the magnetizing assembly 120 is fixedly mounted on the receiving member 142; the rotary positioning member 141 is connected to the receiving member 142, and the rotary positioning member 141 and the receiving member 142 are fixedly mounted on the support member 143.

[0042] In this embodiment, specifically, the rotary positioning component 141 includes a thrust bearing, a collar, a bearing end cap, a cylindrical bearing, and a bearing bracket. The thrust bearing is disposed on the rotating component 112 of the drive assembly 110 to limit axial movement of the rotating component 112 and achieves its own axial positioning by means of the collar. The bearing end cap fixes the thrust bearing to the receiving component 142, forming a sealed protection for the thrust bearing. The cylindrical bearing is disposed on the rotating component 112 and fixed to the support component 143 by the bearing bracket, so as to fix the rotating component 112 to the support component 143. The three sets of components, namely the thrust bearing and collar, the bearing end cap, and the cylindrical bearing and bearing bracket, are symmetrically arranged at both ends of the rotating component 112 with the central short axis of the rotating component 112 as the axis. Each set of components has a pair, and their positions, structures, and materials should be symmetrical and consistent. At any end of the rotating component 112, the thrust bearing and collar, the bearing end cap, and the cylindrical bearing and bearing bracket are arranged sequentially away from the central short axis of the rotating component 112.

[0043] In such an embodiment, specifically, for the high temperature and high speed operating conditions of the rotating component 112, the material of each component of the rotating positioning component 141 surrounding the rotating component 112 is preferably silicon carbide (SiC) material with high hardness and high wear resistance.

[0044] In such an embodiment, the rotary positioning member 141 specifically includes a permanent magnet 121 end cap, a flange, and a key, which are configured to fix the mating part 123 of the magnetizing assembly 120 to the rotating part 112 of the drive assembly 110 to limit and protect the permanent magnet 121. Preferably, the end cap and flange of the permanent magnet 121 are made of high-strength and high-temperature resistant 304 or 316 austenitic stainless steel.

[0045] In such an embodiment, specifically, the receiving member 142 includes a first shell, a second shell, and an outer shell. The first shell and the second shell are symmetrical in structure and are fastened together by a bolt and nut assembly to form a pipe-like semi-enclosed cavity. The outer shell is fixedly disposed at both ends of the pipe-like cavity and together with the first shell and the second shell, forms a cavity. Four sets of grooves are opened in the cavity at corresponding positions to the magnetic conductor 122. There are fixing rods in the grooves to fix the magnetic conductor 122 to the receiving member 142 to prevent the magnetic conductor 122 from rotating or shifting circumferentially.

[0046] In such an embodiment, specifically, the housing 142 serves as a safety protection component, forming a relatively sealed environment to prevent external impurities from entering the high-speed operating electromagnetic pump 100 and causing the component to jam. Since the temperature in this area is low and the force is small, preferably, its material is 304 or 316 austenitic stainless steel.

[0047] In such an embodiment, specifically, the support member 143 and the bearing bracket of the rotary positioning member 141 are fastened together by bolts to fix the rotating member 112 of the drive assembly 110 to the support member 143; the support member 143 and the second housing of the receiving member 142 are fastened together by bolts to fix the receiving member 142 to the support member 143.

[0048] In the embodiments of this application, the rotating member 112 and the magnetic conductor 122 are respectively limited and protected by the rotating positioning member 141 and the receiving member 142, and are fixedly set on the support member 143, providing a good support structure for the electromagnetic pump 100. This prevents other impurities from entering the rotating member 112 when the electromagnetic pump 100 is operating at high speed, which helps to maintain the stability of the rotation condition and magnetic field of the electromagnetic pump 100, thereby extending the service life of the electromagnetic pump 100 and improving the transportation efficiency of liquid metal.

[0049] In some embodiments, this application also provides a system 1 suitable for transporting liquid metal coolants, see [link to system 1]. Figure 4 , Figure 4 This is a schematic diagram of the system provided in the embodiments of this application, such as... Figure 4 As shown, the electromagnetic pump 100 provided in the above-described embodiment of this application further includes: a heating element 200, a storage element 300, and a temperature measuring element 400; the storage element 300 is configured to provide a solid material of liquid metal coolant before melting to the transport pipe 130 of the electromagnetic pump 100; the heating element 200 is configured to heat the storage element 300 and the transport pipe 130 of the electromagnetic pump 100, so that the solid material thereunder melts into liquid metal coolant; the rotating part 112 of the drive assembly 110 of the electromagnetic pump 100 and the permanent magnet 121 of the magnetizing assembly 120 of the electromagnetic pump 100 are configured to cool themselves when the heating element 200 is heated, so that the heating element 200 and the electromagnetic pump 100 work simultaneously; the temperature measuring element 400 is configured to measure the temperature of the transport pipe 130 of the electromagnetic pump 100 in real time.

[0050] In such an embodiment, the temperature measuring element 400 can be a thermocouple, preferably a nickel-chromium-nickel-aluminum type armored insulating thermocouple with a diameter of 1.5 mm and excellent radiation resistance.

[0051] The embodiments of this application provide a storage unit 300 to the transport pipe 130 of the electromagnetic pump 100 with a solid material before the liquid metal coolant melts. A heating element 200 heats the transport pipe 130 of the electromagnetic pump 100 to melt the solid material into a liquid metal coolant. A rotating element 112 and a permanent magnet 121 are provided to cool themselves while the heating element 200 is heating. A temperature measuring element 400 measures the temperature of the transport pipe 130 of the electromagnetic pump 100 in real time. This allows the electromagnetic pump 100 to directly start and operate with solid alkali metal media at room temperature. The solid alkali metal is heated and melted during transport without preheating, and no additional cooling of the electromagnetic pump 100 is required during transport, ensuring the thermal safety of the electromagnetic pump 100. This improves the convenience and safety of transport and helps extend the service life of the electromagnetic pump 100.

[0052] The embodiments of this application use a temperature measuring element 400 to measure the temperature of the transport pipeline 130 in real time, which can monitor the temperature during the alkali metal melting process and the transport process, and timely evaluate the heating efficiency of the heater connected to the transport pipeline 130 and the self-cooling efficiency of the drive component 110 and the magnetizing component 120. This provides a basis for adjusting the heating power and drive power and for the maintenance and repair of the electromagnetic pump 100, thereby improving the transport effect and extending the service life of the electromagnetic pump 100.

[0053] To address the aforementioned technical problems, another aspect of the embodiments of this application provides a method for transporting liquid metal coolant, which employs the system 1 for transporting liquid metal coolant provided in the embodiments of this application, and includes the following steps: S10: Transport pipeline 130 of pretreatment electromagnetic pump 100; S20: The transport pipe 130 and the storage unit 300 are connected to the electromagnetic pump 100; S30: Liquid metal coolant is obtained by using the interface of the heating element 200, the heating storage element 300 and the transport pipe 130 of the electromagnetic pump 100. S40: Start the drive assembly 110 of the electromagnetic pump 100 to drive the magnetizing assembly 120 of the electromagnetic pump 100 to rotate and generate a magnetic field so that the liquid metal coolant flows along the transport pipe 130 of the electromagnetic pump 100. S50: After the transport in step S40 is completed, the heating element 200 is shut down, and the transport pipeline 130 and storage element 300 of the electromagnetic pump 100 are post-processed.

[0054] In such an embodiment, specifically in step S40, the driving component 110 generates an eddy current induction heating effect during the rotation of the magnetizing component 120 of the electromagnetic pump 100, so as to further heat and melt the liquid metal coolant obtained in step S30.

[0055] The embodiments of this application improve the efficiency and safety of transporting metal coolant by strictly controlling the transportation conditions and the heating and condensation process of the liquid metal coolant, preventing impurities from entering and thermal imbalance from damaging the structure of the electromagnetic pump 100.

[0056] In some embodiments, step S10 specifically includes: S11: determining the sealing performance of the transport pipe 130 of the electromagnetic pump 100; S12: determining the cleanliness of the transport pipe 130 of the electromagnetic pump 100; S13: evacuating the transport pipe 130 of the electromagnetic pump 100.

[0057] In such an embodiment, specifically in step S11, non-destructive testing methods such as ultrasonic, eddy current, X-ray, and dye penetrant testing should be used for key parts of the transport pipeline 130, and pressure and sealing tests should be conducted to verify its sealing performance.

[0058] In such an embodiment, specifically in steps S12 and S13, the cleanliness of the transport pipeline 130 should be strictly ensured. Preferably, it is cleaned and vacuum degassed, and the clean environment of the transport pipeline 130 is maintained in subsequent steps.

[0059] The embodiments of this application strictly control the transport environment of the electromagnetic pump 100 and the transport pipeline 130 of the system 1 for transporting liquid metal coolant, preventing impurities and excess gas from entering, thereby ensuring the purity and transport speed of the transported metal coolant.

[0060] In some embodiments, step S30 specifically includes: S31: using the heating element 200 to heat the storage container 300 to melt the solids in the storage container 300, thereby initially obtaining liquid metal coolant; S32: at the interface between the storage container 300 and the transport pipe 130 of the electromagnetic pump 100, using the heating element 200 to further melt the liquid metal coolant until the interface is filled with liquid metal coolant.

[0061] The embodiments of this application obtain liquid metal coolant by melting solids in stages, which enables the liquid metal coolant to be gradually transferred from the storage unit 300 to the transport pipeline 130 of the electromagnetic pump 100. This prevents safety hazards caused by rapid heating and volume expansion and damage to the structure of the transport pipeline 130, thereby ensuring the operational safety of transporting liquid metal coolant and extending the service life of the transport system.

[0062] In some embodiments, step S50 specifically includes: S51: stopping the heating element 200 from heating the storage container 300; S52: stopping the heating element 200 from heating the transport pipe 130 of the electromagnetic pump 100; S53: gradually reducing the operating power of the drive component 110 of the electromagnetic pump 100 until the transport pipe 130 of the electromagnetic pump 100 is reduced to a certain temperature; S54: evacuating the storage container 300 until the liquid metal coolant in the storage container 300 is completely solidified; S55: turning off the drive component 110 of the electromagnetic pump 100 so that the liquid metal coolant in the transport pipe 130 of the electromagnetic pump 100 is solidified.

[0063] In such an embodiment, specifically, the temperature of step S53 can be 150°C.

[0064] In such an embodiment, specifically in step S55, see [link to S55]. Figure 5 , Figure 5 This embodiment of the present application provides a schematic diagram of the cavitation morphology of the transport pipe 130 of an electromagnetic pump 100 suitable for transporting liquid metal coolant. After the liquid metal coolant in the transport pipe 130 of the electromagnetic pump 100 solidifies, the volume of the transport pipe 130 shrinks, and a cavity is formed inside, which can serve as a sign that the electromagnetic pump 100 has completed cooling.

[0065] In the embodiments of this application, after the liquid metal coolant is transported, the liquid metal coolant is cooled in stages to solidify into a solid, which allows for a gradual cessation of the transport system's operation and recovery of raw materials. This prevents safety hazards caused by rapid cooling and sudden contraction of the pipeline, thereby saving transport costs and extending the service life of the transport system.

[0066] Regarding the embodiments of this application, it should also be noted that, without conflict, the embodiments of this application and the features in the embodiments can be combined with each other to obtain new embodiments.

[0067] The above are merely specific embodiments of this application, but the scope of protection of this application is not limited thereto. The scope of protection of this application shall be determined by the scope of the claims.
