[0025] As mentioned earlier, conventional linear actuator testing equipment can only perform simple tests and is difficult to simulate complex actual working conditions. For example, conventional testing equipment cannot simulate control stability problems caused by mass or inertia.

[0026] To address, or at least partially address, the aforementioned problems or other potential issues of conventional linear actuators, embodiments of this disclosure provide a testing apparatus for linear actuators. According to the scheme of this disclosure, under the control of a control system, different loads are applied to the linear actuator using equivalent mass blocks, enabling the testing of the linear actuator's performance under different inertial conditions. This allows for the evaluation of the suitability of the linear actuator's control parameters and the occurrence of oscillations. Furthermore, based on the actual load of the linear actuator, equivalent mass blocks with minimum and maximum inertia are derived, thereby simulating the suitability of the control parameters under light and heavy loads. In this way, the actual load of the linear actuator can be accurately simulated, and the load-bearing capacity and stability of the linear actuator under different loads can be tested.

[0027] The following will combine Figures 1 to 2 This describes an example structure of a test apparatus for a linear actuator. The test apparatus for a linear actuator according to embodiments of this disclosure generally includes at least a base 1, a slide assembly 2, a pair of clamping components, a sensor assembly, an equivalent mass block 5, and a control system 10. For example, the linear actuator may include a planetary roller screw. A planetary roller screw includes rollers, a screw, and a nut. When the nut rotates, the rollers roll within the nut while simultaneously moving axially and rotating within the threaded grooves of the screw, thereby driving the screw to produce linear motion in the axial direction. Because the rollers, screw, and nut use rolling contact rather than sliding friction, this design improves transmission efficiency, load capacity, and durability, achieving efficient and precise linear motion output.

[0028] The base 1 includes a horizontally placed cuboid platform, providing stable support for the entire detection device. The slide assembly 2, a pair of clamping components, some sensor assemblies (force sensors), and the equivalent mass block 5 are all arranged on the base 1, and the control system 10 is arranged close to the base 1. The base 1 can be made of high-strength metal materials, such as aluminum alloy or alloy steel.

[0029] The slide assembly 2 is coupled to the upper surface of the base 1, which can fix the linear actuator. Under the drive of the linear actuator, the sliding platform 23 of the slide assembly 2 can move along the length direction of the base (that is, the axial direction of the linear actuator).

[0030] In some embodiments, the slide assembly 2 may include a pair of slide rails 21, a sliding platform 23, a lead screw 22, and a nut 25. The pair of slide rails 21 are arranged on the base 1 along the length direction of the base 1 and spaced apart by a predetermined distance. That is, the pair of slide rails 21 extend along the length direction of the base 1 and are arranged parallel to each other on both sides of the width direction of the base 1.

[0031] The sliding platform 23 is movably coupled to a pair of slide rails 21 to fix the first clamping component 11 of a pair of clamping components. A lead screw 22 is arranged between the pair of slide rails 21 along the length of the base 1. A nut 25 is fixedly coupled to the lower surface of the sliding platform 23 and movably coupled to the lead screw 22, so as to drive the lead screw 22 to rotate while moving with the sliding platform 23. When the output end of the linear actuator performs linear motion, it drives the sliding platform 23 to perform linear motion along the pair of guide rails 21. During this process, the nut 25 coupled to the sliding platform 23 moves with the sliding platform 23 and drives the lead screw 22 to rotate. In this way, the linear motion of the output end of the linear actuator is converted into the movement of the sliding platform 23 of the slide assembly 2 and the rotation of the lead screw 22. During this process, sensors are used to collect the rotation information of the lead screw 22 and the movement information of the sliding platform 23 to determine the reliability of the control parameters of the linear actuator under different operating conditions.

[0032] A pair of clamping components are fixedly coupled to the slide assembly 2 and the base 1, respectively. In the following description, the pair of clamping components will be referred to as the first clamping component 11 and the second clamping component 12. In some embodiments, the first clamping component 11 is arranged on the slide assembly 2 via a fixing block 24, and the second clamping component 12 is fixed to the base 1 via a fixing seat 13. Driven by the slide assembly 2, the first clamping component 11 can move relative to the second clamping component 12 in the longitudinal direction of the base 1.

[0033] A pair of clamping members are arranged opposite each other along the length of the base 1 to clamp a linear actuator. For example, the linear actuator may include a fixed end (e.g., a housing) and an output end (e.g., an end that extends or retracts relative to the housing). The first clamping member 11 is coupled to the output end, and the second clamping member 12 is coupled to the fixed end. In this way, the linear actuator can be stably fixed between the pair of clamping members, ensuring its stability during detection.

[0034] The sensor assembly is coupled to the slide assembly 2 to acquire at least the motion parameters of the slide assembly 2. The motion parameters acquired by the sensor assembly are provided to the control system 10 so that the control system can determine the reliability of the control parameters of the linear actuator based on these motion parameters.

[0035] An equivalent mass block 5 is arranged on the slide assembly 2 and away from the first clamping member 11, thereby providing an equivalent inertia corresponding to a predetermined load on the linear actuator. By accurately calculating the equivalent mass block equivalent to the predetermined load, the inertia of the equivalent mass block can be matched with the inertia of the predetermined load. In some embodiments, the equivalent mass block 5 is fixedly coupled to the end of the lead screw 22 away from the first clamping member 11. The output end of the linear actuator performs linear motion, driving the lead screw 22 to rotate the equivalent mass block 5. In this way, the operation of the linear actuator under different loads can be simulated.

[0036] The control system 10 is coupled to the linear actuator and sensor assembly, and controls the linear actuator to drive the slide assembly 2 to slide along the length direction based on control parameters. The reliability of the linear actuator's control parameters is determined at least based on the control parameters and the motion parameters collected by the sensor assembly. The control parameters can be input to the control system 10 through the human-machine interface component 110. The control parameters can be proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control parameters, acceleration, deceleration, displacement, etc. In this way, the inertia of the linear actuator can be tested, thereby determining the reliability of the linear actuator's control parameters.

[0037] In some embodiments, the equivalent mass block may include multiple mass blocks. These multiple mass blocks may each have a different equivalent inertia to simulate the load of the linear actuator under different operating conditions. In some embodiments, the multiple mass blocks may include a first mass block with the largest equivalent inertia to simulate the maximum load of the linear actuator, and the multiple mass blocks may also include a second mass block with the smallest equivalent inertia to linearly simulate the minimum load of the actuator. The control system 10 controls the linear actuator to drive the slide assembly to slide along the length direction based on control parameters (e.g., PID parameters, acceleration, deceleration parameters, etc.). Simultaneously, the sensor assembly collects the motion parameters of the slide assembly 2 (e.g., speed parameters, displacement parameters, etc.), and based on the control parameters and motion parameters, evaluates whether the control parameters are appropriate under heavy and light load conditions of the linear actuator to improve control accuracy and reliability.

[0038] In some embodiments, the testing apparatus may further include an encoder bracket 3. The encoder bracket 3 is fixedly coupled to the base 1 and arranged on the side of the sliding platform 2 near the first clamping member 11. In this way, the encoder bracket 3 can provide stable support for the encoder 4, which will be mentioned later, and is easy to operate, which helps to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the measurement.

[0039] In some embodiments, the encoder 4 mentioned above, as a component of the sensor assembly, is fixedly coupled to the encoder bracket 3. The encoder 4 is coupled to one end of the lead screw 22 near the first clamping member 11 and is arranged coaxially with the lead screw 22. In this way, the encoder 4 can directly measure the rotational motion of the lead screw 22, enabling more accurate measurement of the actual rotational speed of the lead screw 22. After acquiring the rotation angle and number of revolutions of the lead screw 22, the encoder 4 sends them to the control system 10, thereby enabling the control system 10 to accurately measure the displacement and movement speed of the slide assembly 2. In some embodiments, the encoder may also directly output parameters such as the displacement and movement speed of the slide assembly 2 to the control system 10 through internal processing by acquiring the rotation angle and number of revolutions of the lead screw 22.

[0040] As mentioned earlier, the control system 10 can determine the performance parameters of the linear actuator based on these motion parameters. The linear actuator is controlled to drive the slide assembly 2 to slide along its length direction based on the control parameters, thereby performing performance testing on the linear actuator based at least on the control parameters and the motion parameters collected by the sensor assembly.

[0041] In some embodiments, the control system 10 may include a data acquisition module, a controller, and a power supply module. The data acquisition module is coupled to the sensor assembly and is used to acquire data obtained by the sensor assembly. For example, the data acquisition module can be coupled to the components of the sensor assembly via appropriate wired or wireless connections to acquire data from the sensor assembly. The controller is coupled to the linear actuator and controls its movement. In this way, the controller can precisely control the operation of the linear actuator while simultaneously acquiring and analyzing sensor data, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and safety of the testing process.

[0042] In some embodiments, the controller can control the movement of the linear actuator according to preset control parameters, for example, the controller can control the linear actuator to accelerate and decelerate.

[0043] In some embodiments, the power module 103 supplies power to the linear actuator and sensor components. In some embodiments, the power module may include a step-down converter to convert the input voltage into multiple different output voltages, thereby supplying power to the linear actuator and sensor components. In this way, the power module provides stable and reliable power support for the entire system.

[0044] In some embodiments, the testing apparatus may further include a human-machine interface component 110. The human-machine interface component 110 is used to allow operation to input control parameters, switch detection states, and / or present detection results. In some embodiments, the human-machine interface component 110 may include devices such as a touch screen and / or buttons, allowing operators to input detection parameters, switch detection states, and present detection results via the touch screen or buttons.

[0045] In some embodiments, the sensor assembly may further include a temperature sensor. The temperature sensor is coupled to the linear actuator and to a data acquisition module for measuring the temperature of the linear actuator. In some embodiments, the temperature sensor may be a patch-type temperature sensor disposed on the outer surface of the linear actuator's motor. Alternatively or additionally, in some embodiments, the temperature sensor may also be integrated inside the linear actuator or at other predetermined locations to measure the linear actuator's temperature. In this way, the temperature sensor can monitor the temperature changes of the linear actuator in real time during operation, evaluate the thermal performance of the linear actuator under different load conditions, thereby improving test reliability.

[0046] In some embodiments, the sensor assembly may further include a force sensor 9. The force sensor 9 is disposed between the second clamping member 12 and the fixed base 13 of a pair of clamping members, and coupled to the data acquisition module, and is used to measure the load-bearing force of the linear actuator. The force sensor 9 acquires the load data of the linear actuator and feeds it back to the data acquisition module. In some embodiments, the force sensor 9 may be a strain gauge force sensor. In this way, the force sensor can measure different load force values borne by the linear actuator in real time and accurately, thereby testing the axial load capacity of the linear actuator.

[0047] In some embodiments, the test assembly may further include multiple support feet and multiple casters 15. The multiple support feet and multiple casters 15 are respectively fixedly coupled to the bottom of the base 1, allowing adjustment of the level of the test device and movement of its position. For example, the casters 15 may be fusible wheels. Fusible wheels are a special type of caster, also known as leveling wheels, combining mobility and stability. They typically include several parts such as a moving wheel, a support bracket, and an adjustment block base. This design allows the fusible wheel to both move the equipment flexibly and fix it when needed, thus balancing mobility and stability, facilitating the movement and leveling adjustment of the test platform.

[0048] In some embodiments, a plurality of first positioning holes 17 and a plurality of positioning grooves 18 are arranged on the side of the upper surface of the base 1 away from the slide assembly 2. The plurality of first positioning holes 17 are arranged along the length direction of the base 1 and enable the second clamping member 12 of a pair of clamping members to be coupled to one of the first positioning holes 17 via the fixing seat 13, thereby adjusting the position of the second clamping member 12 on the base 1 along the length direction. In this way, by adjusting the position of the second clamping member 12 on the base 1, the distance between the first clamping member 11 and the second clamping member 12 is adjusted, thereby meeting the testing requirements of linear actuators of various specifications.

[0049] Each group of first positioning holes 17 includes multiple positioning holes spaced apart by a predetermined distance in the width direction of the base 1. In some embodiments, the multiple positioning holes may not be distributed along a straight line, for example, along a curve or a broken line. In some alternative embodiments, the multiple positioning holes may also be arranged along a straight line, for example, a straight line extending in the width direction. In this way, the fixing seat 13 can be coupled to the base 1 through multiple positioning holes, further improving positioning stability and positioning accuracy.

[0050] Each positioning groove 18 is arranged between two adjacent positioning holes in the width direction. That is, the positioning holes and positioning grooves 18 are arranged alternately in the width direction of the base 1. In some embodiments, the arrangement direction of multiple positioning holes in each group of first positioning holes 17 can be arranged perpendicular to each other with the positioning grooves 18. In this way, the fixing seat 13 is fixed to the base 1 by the positioning grooves 18, which can further improve the positioning accuracy of the second positioning component 12.

[0051] In some embodiments, the mounting base 13 may include a body portion 131 and a mounting portion 132. The body portion 131 includes a first mounting hole 19. The first mounting hole 19 is used to align with one set of first positioning holes 17 from a plurality of sets of first positioning holes 17 to couple the body portion 131 to a predetermined position on the base 1.

[0052] The mounting portion 132 extends from the end of the body portion 131 near the second clamping member 12 in a direction perpendicular to the base 1, and is used to mount the second clamping member 12. That is, the mounting portion 132 is perpendicular to the body portion 131. In some embodiments, the mounting portion 132 has a mounting hole for fixingly coupling the force sensor 9 to the mounting portion 132. In some embodiments, the mounting portion 132 may also have a connection interface for connecting the signal line and power line of the force sensor 9, and for electrically connecting to the data acquisition module, thereby feeding back the data acquired by the force sensor 9 to the data acquisition module. In this way, the force sensor 9 is stably fixed on the base 1, and the electrical connection between the force sensor 9 and the data acquisition module is realized.

[0053] In some embodiments, a groove 231 is arranged on the upper surface of the sliding platform 23 near the first clamping member 11. The groove 231 has a plurality of second positioning holes arranged along the length direction of the base 1 to adjust the position of the first clamping member 11 in the length direction of the base 1. In this way, the first clamping member 11 can be accurately positioned on the sliding platform 23 by means of the groove 231.

[0054] In some embodiments, the testing apparatus may further include a fixing block 24, and the fixing block 24 is provided with a plurality of second mounting holes corresponding to the second positioning holes, so that the fixing block 24 is coupled to the groove 231. By cooperating the second mounting holes of the fixing block 24 with the second positioning holes of the groove 231, the position of the first clamping member 11 on the slide assembly 2 can be finely adjusted, thereby finely adjusting the distance between a pair of clamping members to meet the testing requirements of linear actuators of various specifications.

[0055] In some embodiments, the first clamping component 11 and the second clamping component 12 each include a clamping base and a clamping head. The clamping base is coupled to the fixing block 24 and the mounting portion 132, respectively. The clamping head is coupled to the clamping base 110 and is used to clamp linear actuators of various specifications. In this way, by disassembling and assembling the clamping base, clamping heads of various specifications can be installed to meet the testing needs of linear actuators of various specifications.
