Load switch current limiting protection circuit and method

Abstract

The application provides a load switch current limiting protection circuit and method, which comprises: a reference signal generating circuit, which samples the voltage difference between an input voltage and an output voltage and generates a reference signal according to the voltage difference; a current sampling adjusting circuit, which samples the current flowing through the load switch and generates a first adjusting signal and a second adjusting signal according to the reference signal and the current flowing through the load switch; and a drive control circuit, which generates a drive control signal according to the first adjusting signal and the second adjusting signal, adjusts the current flowing through the load switch to a first current reference value when the current flowing through the load switch is less than a second current reference value, and turns off the load switch when the current flowing through the load switch is greater than the second current reference value. The circuit can control the heat power of the load switch within a reasonable range and improve the reliability of the device.
