The upper nest and the umbrella head are respectively matched with the upper end and the lower end of the multi-section middle rod, the multi-section middle rod is sleeved with the lower nest, the folding type umbrella ribs are respectively pivoted with the upper nest and the lower nest, the folding type umbrella ribs are provided with umbrella folding springs, and the umbrella folding assembly is matched with the multi-section middle rod, the upper nest, the lower nest and the umbrella head. When the umbrella is folded through the umbrella folding assembly, the folding type umbrella ribs can be prevented from colliding with the hand of a user when the multiple sections of middle rods are folded, in addition, the long-strip-shaped holes are formed in the lowermost sections of pipe bodies of the multiple sections of middle rods so that the position of the pull sleeve relative to the umbrella head can be adjusted, and therefore the folding length of the multiple sections of middle rods can be reduced. The folding umbrella has the advantages of being simple in structure and small in size when the umbrella is completely folded.
