Abstract

The secondary battery provided by the utility model comprises a shell for accommodating an electrode assembly; a cover plate closing the opening of the housing, including a first vent hole, and having a first polarity; an insulating member disposed at a lower portion of the cover plate and including a second vent hole having a diameter larger than a diameter of the first vent hole and disposed to correspond to the first vent hole; a current collecting member provided at a lower portion of the insulating member, electrically connected to the electrode assembly, and having a second polarity different from the first polarity; a guide member disposed at a lower portion of the second exhaust hole and electrically connected to the current collection member; and a short circuit member including a conductive material and disposed inside the guide member to move in response to a pressure generated inside the housing to contact the cover plate.
