The application relates to the technical field of brake disc detection, in particular to a surface defect detection device for automobile brake discs, which comprises a working box body, a supporting assembly for supporting the brake disc is arranged in the working box body, a mechanical arm is arranged in the working box body, a first vision module located above the supporting assembly is arranged on the mechanical arm, a turnover assembly is arranged in the working box body, the turnover assembly comprises a lifting cylinder, a moving cylinder, a rotating motor and a double-acting cylinder, the moving cylinder is installed at the piston rod end of the lifting cylinder, the rotating motor is installed at the piston rod end of the moving cylinder, the double-acting cylinder is connected with the output shaft of the rotating motor, and the two piston rods of the double-acting cylinder are both connected with clamping pieces for clamping the brake disc. After the upper surface of the brake disc is detected, the brake disc is turned over by 180 degrees through the turnover assembly, so that the other side of the brake disc can be conveniently detected.
