Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] This utility model belongs to the field of asphalt concrete quality testing technology, specifically relating to a field test device for asphalt concrete permeability under high temperature conditions. Background Technology
[0002] Rolled-compacted asphalt concrete core dams, as a new type of seepage control structure, have been widely used in dam projects due to their strong integrity, good impermeability, and high construction adaptability. Their seepage control effect mainly relies on the high impermeability of the asphalt concrete core material and good interlayer bonding. In actual construction, asphalt concrete core walls are typically constructed using a layered paving and compaction process. If the interlayer contact is not tight, the temperature is not properly controlled, or the construction interval is too long, insufficient interlayer bonding can easily occur, becoming a weak point in the dam's seepage control system. Seepage problems in the core wall often concentrate at the interlayer bonding surfaces.
[0003] Currently, there are relatively mature indoor testing and monitoring methods for the permeability of asphalt concrete as a whole, mainly including variable head, constant head, and pressurized permeability tests. However, traditional methods are mainly applied to asphalt concrete core samples, which cannot accurately reflect the local permeability characteristics of the interlayer interfaces of asphalt concrete at the construction site. For the permeability performance of the interlayer interfaces of asphalt concrete core walls, there is a general lack of effective and convenient testing methods in engineering, and existing methods often cannot distinguish between overall permeability and interlayer permeability. Therefore, developing a field testing device for asphalt concrete permeability under high-temperature conditions is of great significance and value for ensuring the seepage prevention performance of asphalt concrete and the safety of dams. Utility Model Content
[0004] The purpose of this invention is to provide a field testing device for the permeability of asphalt concrete under high temperature conditions, which overcomes the shortcomings of existing permeability testing methods that are limited to indoor testing.
[0005] To achieve the above objectives, the present invention adopts the following technical solution: A field test apparatus for asphalt concrete permeability under high temperature conditions includes: a water tank for supplying water to a steel cylinder; a support bracket for supporting the water tank, the support bracket being installed on an asphalt concrete core wall; a water valve installed at the water outlet end of the water tank for controlling water inflow and outflow; a water pipe connected to the water valve; a short pipe at the upper part of the steel cylinder connected to the water pipe; a steel cylinder embedded in the asphalt concrete core wall; a short water outlet pipe installed at the lower part of the steel cylinder; a connecting pipe connected to the short water outlet pipe; a water-stop clamp installed between the short water outlet pipe and the connecting pipe; a measuring cylinder connected to the connecting pipe; and water-stop filler material filled between the steel cylinder and the asphalt concrete core wall to prevent water from overflowing or seeping from the side wall of the specimen during water injection.
[0006] A further improvement of this utility model is that the bracket has a through hole in the middle for fixing and supporting the water tank.
[0007] A further improvement of this utility model is that it also includes a silicone sleeve fitted at the interface between the water pipe and the upper short pipe of the steel cylinder, and the silicone sleeve is disposed between the connecting part of the water pipe and the upper short pipe of the steel cylinder to prevent water vapor from escaping.
[0008] A further improvement of this utility model is that the steel cylinder is arranged in the vertical core hole of the asphalt concrete core wall, and the upper short pipe of the steel cylinder is connected to the water pipe through a straight pipe.
[0009] A further improvement of this utility model is that the water-stopping filler is a bentonite-based plastic water-stopping paste, which can be filled into a cloth bag and stuffed between the steel cylinder and the hole wall. A layer of butter mud is applied to the side of the cloth bag that contacts the hole to enhance the sealing performance and prevent water from seeping directly into the side wall of the hole from the cloth bag fibers.
[0010] A further improvement of this invention is that the water valve is a manually controllable water valve, used to realize the opening and closing control of the water injection process.
[0011] A further improvement of this utility model is that the steel cylinder is a cylindrical metal shell with an open bottom, the lower end of which is processed to be flat, and its edge is equipped with a flexible sealing ring to ensure a tight fit with the core hole area of the core wall, which is used to limit the water injection range and maintain local water pressure; the upper end of the steel cylinder is provided with a welded upper steel cylinder short pipe, and the side is provided with a welded water outlet short pipe.
[0012] A further improvement of this utility model is that the water-stopping clamp is a screw water-stopping clamp, used to control the connection state between the water outlet short pipe and the measuring cylinder.
[0013] A further improvement of this invention is that the measuring cylinder is positioned on the ground and has a graduated scale for intuitive reading of water level changes.
[0014] A further improvement of this utility model is that the upper part of the measuring cylinder is fitted with a silicone ring with a widened edge. The silicone ring has a through hole with the same diameter as the connecting tube. The connecting tube passes through the through hole and is inserted into the measuring cylinder. The insertion depth is maintained at 2-3 cm below the water surface in the measuring cylinder. A 3 cm water layer is preset in the measuring cylinder to prevent gas blockage.
[0015] Compared with the prior art, the present invention has at least the following beneficial technical effects: (1) The bottom of the steel cylinder is equipped with a flexible sealing ring, the gap between the steel cylinder and the core hole is filled with water-stopping filler, and a silicone sleeve is installed at the pipe connection to ensure the airtightness of the device.
[0016] (2) A silicone ring with a widened edge is fitted at the mouth of the measuring cylinder, and the end of the connecting tube is inserted below the preset water layer. During the test, air bubbles are generated to complete the automatic air release, which avoids the phenomenon of gas blockage and ensures the continuity and stability of water head transmission.
[0017] (3) During the test, the water stop clamp was closed first. After the evaporation-condensation process caused by the high temperature of the core wall inside the steel cylinder ended and the water level stabilized, the water level was recorded. Taking into account the evaporation, condensation and backflow of water, the accuracy of the test data was improved.
[0018] (4) The measuring cylinder is placed vertically on the ground. The operator only needs to observe the water level change in the measuring cylinder to reflect the water level in the steel cylinder, avoiding the difficulty of direct observation inside the dam body, making the operation more intuitive and convenient. [0036] In this embodiment, the bracket 2 has a through hole in the middle for fixing and supporting the water tank 1.
[0037] In this embodiment, a silicone sleeve 5 is also included, which is fitted at the interface between the water pipe 4 and the upper short pipe 6 of the steel cylinder. The silicone sleeve 5 is disposed between the water pipe 4 and the upper short pipe 6 of the steel cylinder to prevent water vapor from escaping.
[0038] In this embodiment, the steel cylinder 7 is arranged in the vertical core hole of the asphalt concrete core wall, and the upper short pipe 6 of the steel cylinder is connected to the water pipe 4 through a straight pipe.
[0039] In this embodiment, the water-stopping filler 12 is a bentonite-based plastic water-stopping paste that can be filled into a cloth bag and placed between the steel cylinder and the hole wall. A layer of butter mud is applied to the side of the cloth bag that contacts the hole to enhance the sealing performance and prevent water from seeping directly into the side wall of the hole from the cloth bag fibers.
[0040] In this embodiment, the water valve 3 is a manually controllable water valve, used to control the opening and closing of the water injection process.
[0041] In this embodiment, the steel cylinder 7 is a cylindrical metal shell with an open bottom. Its lower end is machined to be flat, and its edge is equipped with a flexible sealing ring 14 to ensure a tight fit with the core hole area of the core wall, which is used to limit the water injection range and maintain local water pressure. The upper end of the steel cylinder 7 is provided with a welded upper steel cylinder short pipe 6, and the side is provided with a welded water outlet short pipe 8.
[0042] In this embodiment, the water-stopping clamp 9 is a screw water-stopping clamp, used to control the connection state between the water outlet short pipe 8 and the measuring cylinder 11.
[0043] In this embodiment, the measuring cylinder 11 is positioned on the ground and has a graduated scale for visually reading water level changes.
[0044] In this embodiment, a silicone ring 13 with a widened edge is fitted on the upper part of the measuring cylinder 11. The silicone ring 13 has a through hole with the same diameter as the connecting tube 10. The connecting tube 10 passes through the through hole and is inserted into the measuring cylinder 11. The insertion depth is maintained at 2-3 cm below the water surface in the measuring cylinder. A 3 cm water layer is preset in the measuring cylinder to prevent gas blockage.
[0045] Example 1 like Figures 1 to 5 As shown, the present invention provides a field test device for the permeability of asphalt concrete under high temperature conditions, comprising: a water supply component, a water valve 3, a silicone sleeve 5, an upper short pipe of a steel cylinder 6, a steel cylinder 7, a water outlet short pipe 8, a water-stop clamp 9, a connecting pipe 10, a measuring cylinder 11, a water-stop filler 12, a perforated silicone ring 13, and a flexible sealing ring 14.
[0046] The water supply assembly includes a water tank 1, a water valve 3, and a water pipe 4. A support frame 2 is vertically erected on the ground. The end of the water tank 1 passes through a through-hole in the center of the support frame 2 and is positioned above the steel cylinder 7. The bottom of the water tank 1 is connected to the water pipe 4, and a water valve 3 is installed on the water pipe 4 to control the water flow rate. The outer diameter of the water pipe 4 is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the short pipe 6 at the top of the steel cylinder. The two are interlocked, and a frustum-shaped silicone sleeve 5 is installed at the joint to form a flexible seal, preventing water vapor leakage due to temperature changes during the test.
[0047] In this embodiment, the steel cylinder 7 is a hollow cylinder with a flexible sealing ring 14 at its lower end. The steel cylinder 7 can be vertically erected in the core sampling hole of the asphalt concrete core wall. A water-stopping filler 12 is filled between the outer wall of the steel cylinder 7 and the core sampling hole to form an annular sealing layer, preventing radial leakage during water supply. The water-stopping filler 12 is continuously arranged along the outer circumference of the steel cylinder 7 to enhance the sealing performance with the sidewall of the asphalt concrete specimen. A short upper pipe 6 is welded to the upper end of the steel cylinder 7 for connection to the water supply unit.
[0048] In this embodiment, a short water outlet pipe 8 is welded to the side wall of the steel cylinder 7, and the short water outlet pipe 8 is connected to the measuring cylinder 11 through a connecting pipe 10. A water-stop clamp 9 is provided on the connecting pipe 10 to realize on / off control. The measuring cylinder 11 is a transparent graduated cylinder used to reflect the water level changes inside the steel cylinder.
[0049] In this embodiment, a perforated silicone ring 13 is provided at the upper end of the measuring cylinder 11. The edge of the silicone ring 13 is widened, and a through hole matching the diameter of the connecting pipe 10 is opened on the edge. The connecting pipe 10 passes through the through hole and is inserted into the measuring cylinder 11, with the insertion depth maintained at 2-3 cm below the liquid surface in the measuring cylinder. Through the above structure, the steel cylinder 7 and the measuring cylinder 11 form a communicating vessel structure, ensuring accurate transmission of water level changes. To avoid gas retention, a water layer of about 3 cm depth can be pre-added in the measuring cylinder 11 before the test, so that the end of the connecting pipe is always submerged below the water surface initially. A flexible sealing ring 14 is used to fix the connecting pipe 10 at the interface of the measuring cylinder 11, and the insertion depth of the connecting pipe 10 is adjusted to ensure that its end is always 2-3 cm below the liquid surface. The measuring cylinder 11 is connected to the steel cylinder 7 through the connecting pipe 10. The operator observes the water level changes in the measuring cylinder to obtain the water level changes inside the steel cylinder, thereby judging the seepage prevention performance of the asphalt concrete.
[0050] In this embodiment, when the temperature of the asphalt concrete core wall is high, the moisture inside the steel cylinder evaporates. The steam condenses upon contact with the metal wall at the top of the steel cylinder and flows back into the cylinder, thus maintaining a relatively stable water volume in the system. To further prevent steam escape, a silicone sleeve 5 is used to seal the connection between the short pipe 6 at the top of the steel cylinder and the water pipe 4.
[0051] In this embodiment, during the experiment, the water stop clamp 9 is closed, and the water valve 3 is opened to allow water to enter the steel cylinder 7. When the temperature of the asphalt concrete core wall is high, the water will evaporate and then condense at the top of the steel cylinder. The condensate will then flow back into the steel cylinder 7. After condensation has ended and the water level has stabilized, the water tank 1, support 2, and water pipe 4 are removed, allowing the atmosphere to communicate with the steel cylinder 7. Then, the water stop clamp 9 is opened, and the water column pushes the residual air out of the connecting pipe 10. Bubbles can be seen emerging from the preset water layer in the measuring cylinder 11, thus achieving air venting. The operator can use two fingers to open the small hole on the silicone ring 13 and slowly pull the connecting pipe to adjust its insertion depth, ensuring that its end is always 2-3 cm below the liquid surface. After air venting is completed and the water level stabilizes, the connecting pipe is loosened from the small hole, and the water level in the measuring cylinder is recorded. The record is repeated after a period of time. The change in the water level in the measuring cylinder 11 reflects the change in the water level inside the steel cylinder 7, thereby obtaining the permeability performance between the core wall layers.
[0052] In this embodiment, the outlet pipe 8 on the side of the steel cylinder 7 is connected to the measuring cylinder 11 via the connecting pipe 10, forming a communicating vessel structure. During the test, when the water-stop clamp 9 is opened, the water level inside the steel cylinder 7 remains consistent with the water level inside the measuring cylinder 11. Since the measuring cylinder 11 is located on the ground, the operator can directly observe the water level changes inside the measuring cylinder 11 from the ground to obtain the water level changes inside the steel cylinder 7 embedded in the core wall. This method avoids the difficulty of directly taking readings inside the dam body, making the water level monitoring process simpler, more intuitive, and safer.
[0053] In this embodiment, the water-stopping filler 12 is preferably a bentonite-based plastic water-stopping paste, which is made by mixing bentonite and grease, and has plasticity and water-swelling properties. During operation, the grease is placed into a permeable cloth bag and squeezed into a strip shape for sealing. A thin layer of grease is evenly applied to the side of the bag closest to the hole, and then the bag is filled into the gap between the steel cylinder and the hole. The cloth bag bears the main load-bearing and disassembly functions, while the outer layer of grease is compacted under water pressure during the test, enhancing the seal and preventing water leakage along the sidewalls. After the test, the entire cloth bag and the grease inside can be pulled out, leaving no large residue on the hole surface, facilitating subsequent hole sealing.
