Compositions of supplementary cementitious material and manufacturing methods

Abstract

A method for producing supplementary cementitious material ("SCM"). The method comprises: contacting an inlet stream with a mechano-thermal activation aid; heat-treating the inlet stream to form a heat-treated inlet stream; and cooling the heat-treated inlet stream to obtain supplementary cementitious material. The method may further include carbonating the heat-treated inlet stream. The method may further comprise modifying the network structure using the mechano-thermal activation aid. A composition comprising a calcium silicate hydrate bond; a supplementary cementitious material; and a mechano-thermal activation aid. The composition may further comprise a carbonate. The composition may further comprise a biomass.
