Abstract
Systems and procedures are provided for designing three-port survey reference signal (SRS) resources. In some implementations, a procedure performed by a user unit (UE) includes: receiving a configuration with a four-port SRS resource; receiving a control message to trigger / activate an SRS transmission; and transmitting three of the four SRS ports from the four-port SRS resource. This allows for the design of three-port SRS resources and three-port SRS transmission, thus enabling uplink transmission of three transmission chains.
