Corrosion inhibitors under deposits and methods of using them

Abstract

This disclosure provides compositions and methods for inhibiting corrosion, including under-deposit corrosion, of a metal surface in contact with a medium. A method may include adding a composition to the metal surface. A composition may include a first reaction product, a second reaction product, a trimer acid, a solvent, and a viscosifying dimer acid. The first reaction product may be produced by reacting a first amine with a first carboxylic acid and a dimer acid. The second reaction product may be produced by reacting a second amine with a second carboxylic acid.
