Abstract

A packaging wrapper (10) for a disposable hygiene item (78) is described. The packaging wrapper comprises a stretched sheet (12) having first and second folding axes (26; 28) that divide the stretched sheet into a first end region (30), a second end region (32), and a central region (34) between the first end region (30) and the second end region (32). The stretched sheet (12) has a first side edge zone (36) and a second side edge zone (38). The packaging wrapper (10) further comprises adhesive strips in the first and second side edge zones (36, 38).The adhesive strips include a first pair of adhesive strips (40) in the first end region (30), a second pair of adhesive strips (42) in the second end region (32), and a central pair of adhesive strips (44) in the central region (34), with each strip of the pair having a width (ws) extending in a transverse direction (T) from its respective longitudinal edge. The first pair of adhesive strips (40) has a first basis weight, the second pair of adhesive strips (42) has a second basis weight, and the central pair of adhesive strips (44) has a third basis weight, the third basis weight being less than said first and second basis weights.
