Controlled flow retrofit cartridge system to convert a traditional urinal into a hybrid

Abstract

A cartridge is presented that is shaped to fit into the drain of a urinal; the cartridge has an orifice formed therein to regulate a flow of rinse water so that the rinse water rises to come into contact with a chemical volume, thereby becoming chemically infused; the orifice can be adjusted to determine a height to which the rinse water rises in the urinal bowl; the orifice comprises a screw adjustment system, an orifice occlusion system, or a shaft and cap system; a rinse water source having an adjustable orifice is also presented; the orifice of the rinse water source can be adjusted to determine a height to which the rinse water rises in the urinal bowl when the urinal is rinsed.
