End protector for a tubular element

Abstract

The present invention describes an end protector (1) for mounting on a tubular element (9). The end protector has a side portion (2), a closed lower end portion (3), and an open upper end (4). The lower end (3) faces the tubular element (9) when mounted, and the upper end (4) is enclosed by a peripheral rim (5) along the side portion (2). The side portion (2) includes at least one longitudinal slit (6) extending from the upper end (4) to the lower end portion (3) and formed by at least one connecting element (7) extending at least partially into the side portion (2), connecting the side portion (2) on both sides of the slit (6). The rim (5) includes at least one cut (8) and at least one raised portion (11), which prevent the rim (5) from bulging.The closed lower end portion (3) has a plurality of grooves (10) and elevations (12). As the walls of the grooves (6) move toward each other, the opposing walls (13) and (14) of the elevations (12) in the lower end portion (3) also move toward each other, thereby reducing the possibility of the lower end portion (3) increasing.
