Abstract

Sub-studs usable in exterior wall system assemblies are described, incorporating ventilation and / or spark arrest and / or adhesive receiving features. The sub-studs may comprise one or more flanges and strings having ventilation and / or adhesive receiving holes formed therein. The flanges and strings of the sub-studs may form within the sub-stud and / or the exterior wall system assemblies one or more chambers through which air and moisture can travel and / or flame and sparks can be stopped.
