Abstract

The present invention relates to a modular wireless device for monitoring, detecting, and predicting gases in underground environments, applicable to mines, tunnels, galleries, and confined civil works. The device integrates a gas analysis chamber, an active sampling system using microdiaphragm pumps, a sample conditioning filter, gas sensors, a local acquisition and control board (PCB Gas-Sen), an embedded processing unit, wireless communication, and alerts. The system allows for the collection of ambient air, its filtration, controlled introduction into the analysis chamber, and measurements to be taken on a conditioned sample, reducing the influence of humidity, dust, particles, and other contaminants. The PCB Gas-Sen acquires and conditions the sensor signals, controls the sampling and purging cycle, and transmits the data to the processing unit. The measurements are organized into time sequences and processed by a predictive module capable of estimating the future evolution of gas concentrations and determining risk levels. Based on these estimates, the device generates local or remote early warnings, records information, and transmits it to external stations, anticipating hazardous conditions before reaching critical thresholds and improving operational safety in underground environments.
