Abstract

A method is implemented by a user equipment (UE) from a plurality of UEs that receive a plurality of orthogonal coverage code (OCC) sequences to transmit simultaneously to a network node on the same time-frequency resources. The method comprises receiving an OCC sequence from the plurality of OCC sequences. The plurality of OCC sequences is allocated to each of the plurality of UEs. The method further comprises transmitting, over a shared physical narrowband uplink channel (NPUSCH) of format 1, to the network node on the same time-frequency resources shared by other UEs of the plurality of UEs. The plurality of user equipment (UEs) transmit simultaneously over the physical narrowband uplink for single-tone or multi-tone transmission with a first subcarrier spacing (SCS).The application of the plurality of OCC sequences is performed with respect to one or more OFDM symbols, one or more intervals in the time domain, or a resource unit in the time domain.
