Abstract
A method for preparing a conductive self-supporting film, which allows an industrially robust process to perform surface treatment of carbon nanotubes, where sulfonated pyrenes with a maximum of three sulfone groups per pyrene molecule are firmly fixed on their surface through π-π interactions, thereby preparing a conductive printing formulation, which is printed on a non-conductive carrier substrate to form a conductive layer with a thickness of 10 to 500 µm, which is dried to form a conductive self-supporting film with a thickness of 0.1 to 50 µm and a sheet resistance of up to 100 Ohm / square. The conductive self-supporting films prepared in this way can then be used as electrode layers, for charge transfer or heating by up to tens of degrees Celsius at a supplied power of about 2 W. In addition, conductive self-supporting films additived with a suitable type of polymer are sufficiently flexible and can be laminated between two non-conductive polymer carrier substrates. The essence of the preparation of a conductive printing formulation is the sulfonation of unsubstituted pyrene in a dichloromethane or chloroform environment with the addition of chlorosulfonic acid.
