Abstract

A method for operating a home communication system with at least two stations, comprising at least one indoor station and one outdoor station, in which data is transmitted between an outdoor station having a microphone and a video camera and an indoor station of the system, wherein a data stream of audio data generated from microphone recordings of the outdoor station and a data stream of video data generated from video camera recordings of the outdoor station flow at least partially overlapping in time for the data transmission, wherein the video data stream can be switched on before the audio data stream and is preferably switched on, characterized in that the flow of the audio data stream is decoupled from that of the video data stream by the audio data stream flowing in a first session for data transmission between the two stations, managed by a SIP protocol, and the video data stream flowing in a session different from the first session.The second session, managed by a different protocol, flows.
