AI Technical Summary
Existing pivoting devices in vehicle seats, such as armrests, suffer from gaps that change length and expose the pivoting mechanism, leading to both functional and visual impairments.
A pivoting device with a bezel covering the varying gap between the pivot body and structure, featuring rigid sections and a flexible section with reinforcing elements to control the folding of a limp panel, ensuring a defined folding motion.
The solution ensures controlled folding and covers the gap, eliminating visual exposure of the pivoting mechanism while maintaining smooth operation.

Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a pivoting device.
[0002] Such a pivoting device is z. B. known from armrests of vehicle seats. The armrest comprises a pivoting body which is pivotably mounted on a structure fixed to the vehicle by means of a pivot joint between a use position and a non-use position. The pivot device had the disadvantage that a gap was formed between a portion of the armrest body and the structure, the length of which changed depending on the position of the armrest body. In particular, when the armrest body was in the use position, the vehicle occupant could see the pivoting mechanism, which was undesirable.
[0003] For this reason, a limp panel was attached to the armrest body portion and to the structure, which was unfolded in the use position of the armrest body and folded in the non-use position. However, the panel folded in an uncontrolled manner, which led to a functional impairment of the swiveling process and to a visual impairment of the vehicle seat.
[0004] It was an object of the invention to create a pivoting device with a panel in which the above-mentioned disadvantages due to controlled folding do not occur.
[0005] The object was solved by a pivoting device with the features of claim 1.
[0006] The pivoting device comprises a pivoting body which is mounted on a structure fixed to the vehicle so that it can pivot between a use position and a non-use position by means of a pivot joint. The swivel body can, for. B. be an armrest or hatch for vehicle seats. A gap is formed between the pivot body and the structure, the length of which varies depending on the position of the pivot body. The gap is covered by a bezel, the bezel being attached to the pivot body by a first attachment and attached to the structure by a second attachment.
[0007] The panel has at least two rigid sections, between which a flexible section is formed, which forms a folded edge.
[0008] The base material of the panel is z. B. formed by a limp material. This can e.g. B. be a textile material or a film.
[0009] The rigid sections are z. B. formed by rigid reinforcement elements that are attached to the pliable material. The reinforcing elements can, for. B. be formed by rods or plates.
[0010] The reinforcing elements are z. B. aligned in parallel.
[0011] The reinforcing elements are z. B. so spaced apart that folding edges are formed between the reinforcing elements.
[0012] Further advantages result from the description of an exemplary embodiment illustrated in the figures. The schematic representations show:
[0013] figure 1 is a side view of the pivoting device with the pivoting body in the non-use position,
[0014] figure 2 according to the pivoting device figure 1, with the swivel body in the use position,
[0015] figure 3 is a plan view of the pivoting device according to view arrow III in figure 2.
[0016] A pivoting device as a whole is referenced in the figures 10 designated. Like reference characters in the figures indicate corresponding parts.
[0017] The swivel device 10 includes a pivot body 11 , which can be pivoted about a pivot axis a on a structure fixed to the vehicle 12 is stored. The swivel device is z. B. Part of a rear seat of a motor vehicle, wherein the pivot body 11 forms a center armrest. The structure 12 includes a plate 13 . A screen formed from a substantially flexible base material 14 is with a first attachment 15 at a portion of the swing body 11 and with a second attachment 16 at the plate 13 fastened.
[0018] Infigure 1 is the swivel body 11 in a non-use position. Between the first fortification 15 and the second attachment 16 a gap S with a first length l1 is formed. The aperture 14 is folded between the swivel body 11 and the plate 13 arranged.
[0019] In figure 2 is the swivel body 11 shown in a use position. In the use position z. B. a vehicle occupant on an outside 17 of the swivel body 11 support. Between the first fortification 15 and the second attachment 16 a gap l2 is formed which is larger than l1. The aperture 14 is deployed between the swivel body 11 and the plate 13 arranged.
[0020] To ensure that the aperture 14 folds in a defined manner during the movement from the use position to the non-use position are rigid elements 18 at the aperture 14 fastened, e.g. B. sewn. The Elements 18 , which in the present exemplary embodiment are in the form of plates, have a width b1 which is essentially the width b2 of the diaphragm 14 is equivalent to. In this way, between the means of the elements 18 stiffened areas formed flexible areas, the folded edges 19 form a defined folding of the panel 14 guarantee.
