Abstract
Method for functionally reliable detection of the "reverse" direction of travel in a motor vehicle, comprising an automatic transmission, characterized in that the control currents of the switching elements of the automatic transmission, the output speed and the output speed direction are monitored and evaluated, wherein a functionally reliable detection of an engaged gear stage R is achieved by a logical evaluation of the control currents of the switching elements of the transmission, the output speed and the direction of rotation signal of the output, whereby a "reverse" direction of travel is functionally reliably detected.
