Abstract

Method for adjusting the ignition of an engine (47) in a vehicle (40), wherein the knock limit of the engine (47) is determined for adjusting the ignition of the engine (47) taking into account at least one piece of information regarding the quality of a fuel supplied, characterized in that the at least one piece of information regarding the quality of the fuel supplied comprises information determined during operation by at least one other vehicle (10) which has supplied the fuel, regarding an ignition timing at the knock limit or an angular position of the crankshaft (56) at the ignition timing at the knock limit.
