Description

[0001] The invention relates to a fastening arrangement for a belt end fitting of a safety belt device of a motor vehicle with an anchoring element which projects through an opening in a body panel into a cavity of a body part and is fixed by the body panel, wherein the anchoring element is additionally fixed in the cavity by a solid foam structure.

[0002] Such a fastening arrangement is known, for example, from DE 10 2013 226 882 A1. Here, the anchor element is inserted into the cavity of a body part through a slot formed as an opening in the body panel and then rotated such that the anchor element engages behind the body panel with its end located in the cavity. This is intended to provide a detachable connection that requires less assembly effort during fastening. Furthermore, it is known, for example, from US 3 790 208 A to provide a safety belt device fastened to a body part with an energy absorption device in order to dampen the impact force acting on the person secured with the belt in the event of an impact accident. It is also known from the generic DE 20 61 100 A that the anchor element is additionally fixed in the cavity by a rigid foam structure. All of the above-mentioned fastening arrangements have the disadvantage that, for example, in the event of a side impact in the area of the fastening arrangement, the load-bearing capacity of the seat belt device may no longer be guaranteed at the full load. In a subsequent accident, there is therefore a risk that the fastening arrangement for the belt end fitting may no longer be able to withstand the load exerted by the seat belt device.

[0003] The object of the invention is therefore to avoid the above-mentioned disadvantage in a simple and cost-effective manner.

[0004] This task is achieved by designing one end of the anchoring element, located in the cavity, as a labyrinth-shaped insert. First, the load-bearing capacity of the fastening assembly is increased by enclosing the anchoring element in the cavity within the solid foam structure, thus providing a larger surface area to absorb the load. Severe deformation due to a crash does not necessarily lead to failure of the fastening assembly. Furthermore, the surface area of the anchoring element located within the solid foam structure is optimally enlarged, enabling the greatest possible load.

[0005] In an advantageous embodiment, the rigid foam structure is an expanding foam that optimally utilizes the available cavity. The body panel can advantageously be welded to the body part. However, it is also possible for the body panel to be bolted to the body part.

[0006] With regard to the connection of a safety belt device for a rear seat bench of a motor vehicle, the body part can be designed as a connecting part between a sill element and a longitudinal member.

[0007] The invention is explained in more detail with reference to a drawing, which shows: Fig. 1 is a schematic perspective view of a known rear area of a motor vehicle, and Fig. 2 a schematic perspective sectional view of a fastening arrangement according to the invention.

[0008] Fig. 1 shows a schematic perspective view of a rear compartment 2 of a motor vehicle 4, which has a body 6 in a known manner. A sill element 8 is connected in a known manner to a rear longitudinal member 12 via a connecting part 10. A rear seat bench 14 is provided in the rear compartment 2, for which a safety belt device 16 is shown in the present embodiment. A safety belt 18 of the safety belt device 16 is guided along a vehicle pillar 20 in a known manner to a belt end fitting 22 and secured there.

[0009] Fig.2 shows a schematic, perspective sectional view of a fastening arrangement 24 for the belt end fitting 22. In the present exemplary embodiment, the fastening arrangement 24 comprises the body part designed as a connecting part 10, a body panel 26, and an anchor element 28 which projects through an opening 30 in the body panel 26 into a cavity 32 formed by the connecting part 10. An end 34 of the anchor element 28 provided in the cavity is designed as a labyrinth-shaped insert in order to provide the largest possible surface area. In the present exemplary embodiment, the body panel 26 is welded to the connecting part 10 in a known manner by spot welding. However, the body panel 26 can also be screwed or riveted to the connecting part 10.It is also possible that the body sheet 26 is part of the connecting part 10 and has, for example, a slot-shaped opening through which the end 34 of the anchor member 28 can be inserted into the cavity 32.

[0010] In order to increase the load-bearing capacity of the fastening arrangement 24 in a simple and cost-effective manner and at the same time ensure that the load-bearing capacity of the fastening arrangement 24 is guaranteed even when the connecting part 10 is deformed due to a crash, the invention provides that the cavity 22 in the region of the anchor element 28 is filled with a solid foam structure 36, in particular an expanding foam. The expanding foam 36 completely encloses the labyrinth-shaped anchor element 34 and additionally fixes it and thus the fastening arrangement 24. In addition, the expanding foam 36 has the advantage of high elasticity, which ensures load-bearing capacity even in the deformed state.
