Abstract

Mobile robot that includes the following: a driving unit (160) that is configured to move a main body (110) based on a navigation map containing several local maps; an image acquisition unit (120) configured to acquire multiple images in areas corresponding to the multiple local maps; a storage unit (150) configured to store the multiple images captured by the image acquisition unit (120); and a control device (140) configured to recognize an attribute of a local map from the multiple local maps in which a number N images are captured photographed in multiple directions, to store a recognition result in the storage unit (150), to generate a semantic map composed of a predetermined number of adjacent local maps, and, based on the attribute recognition results of the local maps included in the semantic map, to recognize a final attribute of an area corresponding to the semantic map.
