Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a separator arrangement for a raw air stream from an intake arrangement of an internal combustion engine, comprising a housing arrangement with an inlet channel section, an outlet channel section, and outlet means for removing separating substances, wherein the housing arrangement includes swirl-generating means for generating a swirl in the raw air stream. The invention further relates to an intake arrangement for an internal combustion engine.
[0002] Such separation or intake arrangements are well known in the art. Internal combustion engines must be supplied with combustion air. To prevent malfunctions of the internal combustion engine due to contaminants in the fuel-air mixture, filter devices are provided in the intake tract for the raw air drawn in from outside. It is known to install a separation arrangement upstream of the filter devices, which removes coarse contaminants and water from the raw air in order to protect the filter devices from becoming clogged too quickly.
[0003] For example, it is known from DE 103 17 694 B4 to use swirl-generating means in a separator device that directs the separated substances, such as dust, water, etc., towards outlet means in order to remove the separated substances from the intake tract. The ever-decreasing available installation space in motor vehicles also necessitates increasingly complex intake air duct sections. The generic separator arrangement requires a very large installation space to ensure optimal swirl generation. This makes the known separator device difficult to adapt to complex intake duct sections.
[0004] The invention is therefore based on the objective of avoiding the aforementioned disadvantage in a simple and cost-effective way.
[0005] This problem is solved according to the invention by providing a guide vane arrangement as a swirl-generating means, comprising at least two guide vane elements arranged one behind the other in the direction of flow of the raw air stream, with guide vanes offset from one another. The inventive design of the swirl-generating means as a guide vane arrangement makes it possible to provide a very compact separator arrangement that can be easily adapted to the intake duct section.
[0006] In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the guide vane arrangement has three guide vane elements.
[0007] Advantageously, the guide vane arrangement forms the inlet channel section.
[0008] The outlet duct section is advantageously designed in a pot shape with an outlet opening. The outlet means can consist of a recess in the last guide vane element and an opening in the outlet duct section, viewed in the direction of the raw air flow. The guide vane elements and the outlet duct section advantageously have corresponding circumferential frames.
[0009] To easily create an offset of the guide vane elements, the guide vane elements and the outlet channel section can have positive locking means for positive joining.
[0010] To ensure optimal airflow to the guide vane assembly, the first guide vane element seen in the direction of the raw air flow has a conical impact element.
[0011] The problem is also solved by an intake arrangement for an internal combustion engine with such a separation arrangement, wherein an intake air duct section is provided which attacks flange elements of the exhaust duct section in a sealed manner, such that the inlet duct section with the guide vane arrangement extends into the intake air duct section.
[0012] The invention is explained in more detail with reference to a drawing. This drawing shows: Fig. 1. A perspective view of a transparently depicted intake arrangement with a separation arrangement. Fig. 2 an exploded view of the in Fig. 1 separation arrangement shown, Fig. 3 a perspective view of an outlet channel section of the separation arrangement Fig. 2, Fig. 4 a detailed view of the separation arrangement, Fig. 5 a front view of the separator assembly in the assembled state, and Fig. 6 A side view of the separator assembly in the assembled state.
[0013] Fig. Figure 1 shows a transparently depicted intake arrangement in a perspective view. 2 of a motor vehicle not shown. With the reference number 4 This refers to a body-side intake opening through which ambient air is drawn as raw air into the intake assembly. 2 It is drawn in. The intake opening is located in a section of the intake air duct. 6 , which is based on flange components 8 (see also) Fig. 5) of an outlet channel section 10 a separation order 12 It is sealed and attacks. The outlet channel section 10 the separation order 12 is located in another intake air duct section. 14The combustion air required for the combustion process of an internal combustion engine is drawn in through the intake opening. 4 drawn in as raw air and passed through the separation arrangement 12 into the second canal section 14 This is carried out. In order to avoid excessively contaminating subsequent filter devices and consequently extend their service life, the separation arrangement includes 10 the separation of raw air from impurities such as water, dust, etc.
[0014] Fig. Figure 2 now shows an exploded view of the separation arrangement. 12 out of Fig. 1. The separation order 12 It has a housing arrangement 16 , which essentially consist of an inlet channel section 18 and the outlet channel section 10 exists. The inlet channel section 18 This is achieved through a guide vane arrangement 20designed, which consist of three guide vane elements 22 , 24 , 26 is constructed. The guide vane elements 22 , 24 , 26 Each guide vane 28 , 30 , 32 which are designed to be offset from each other when assembled. This makes it possible to achieve a very compact guide vane arrangement. 20 to generate the desired swirl in the raw air stream.
[0015] To ensure optimal airflow to the guide vane elements 22 , 24 , 26 To ensure this, the first guide vane element 22 centrally located is a cone-shaped impact element. 34 up. To adjust the guide vane arrangement 20 to be easily assembled and thereby achieve the desired offset of the guide vane elements 28 , 30 , 32 To ensure this, the guide vane elements possess 22 , 24 , 26corresponding locking lugs 36 and grooves 38 as positive locking devices that ensure a positive locking connection (see also Fig. 6) Furthermore, the guide vane elements 22 , 24 , 26 corresponding scope framework 40 , 42 , 44 on, which also includes a scope frame 46 of the outlet channel section 10 correspond to engage with each other in a form-fitting manner and create a compact, easy-to-assemble housing arrangement 16 to form the third guide vane element 26 It also features clips 48 up, which are in resting noses 50 of the outlet channel section 10 intervention.
[0016] The outlet channel section 10 is as in Fig. 3 shown, pot-shaped and has an outlet opening 52 , through which the pre-cleaned raw air enters the intake duct section14 flows. Also the pot-shaped design of the outlet channel section. 10 This necessitates a very compact design of the separation arrangement. 12 , which is also easy to adapt to different intake duct sections.
[0017] With 8 is this already in connection with Fig. 1. Explained flange component of the outlet channel section 10 for attachment to the intake air duct section 6 designated.
[0018] Fig. Figure 4 shows a detail of the separation arrangement. 12 in its assembled state. The perimeter frame is visible here. 48 of the third guide vane element 26 , which is within the scope 50 of the outlet channel section 18 is clipped in and has a recess 54 features an opening 56so-called outlet means, through which the separating substances to be removed from the raw air stream are discharged in a known manner.
[0019] Fig. Figure 5 now shows a front view of the separation arrangement. 12 in the assembled state, with the outlet channel section 10 into the second intake manifold section 14 extends inwards. The outlet devices are located in the lower right of the diagram. 54 , 56 , through which the waste products are removed.
[0020] The Fig. Figure 6 shows the separation arrangement. 12 in a side view in the assembled state, with the inlet channel section 18 with the guide vane arrangement 20 into the first intake manifold section 4 extends inwards. The very compact design of the separation arrangement is clearly visible. 12 , whose free running length in the outlet channel section 10In the present embodiment, it is only about 46 mm.
