Abstract

Human-machine control (1), in particular for a machine tool or plant, comprising: - at least one display unit (20) for displaying content, - at least one control element (10) having at least two switching states, the switching states of which can be changed by a physically conscious actuation by a user, - wherein the display unit (20) comprises an e-paper display (22) and displays the at least one content unchanged in a voltage-free state, - wherein the at least one display unit (20) is coupled to the at least one control element (10) by means of an interface (15), - wherein for each of the at least two switching states of the at least one control element (10) a predefined content of the respective display unit (20) is stored on a storage medium,- wherein, depending on each of the at least two switching states of the control element (10), the at least one display unit (20) reproduces the predefined content, and- wherein the display unit (20) has a resolution of N pixels and the content stored on the storage medium for the respective display unit (20) comprises exactly one value for each of the N pixels.
