Abstract

Device for controlling a vehicle update, the device comprising: a state manager (140) configured to manage state information about a plurality of controllers that the vehicle has; a control device (110) configured to determine whether the update should be performed based on the state information when the vehicle's ignition is switched off; and an update manager (150) configured to perform a reprogramming operation on at least one controller of the plurality of controllers depending on whether the update should be performed, wherein the state manager (140) is configured to send an update readiness request signal to the plurality of controllers when the vehicle's ignition is switched off in order to determine an operating state of each controller of the plurality of controllers.When the vehicle's ignition is switched off, the update readiness request signal is transmitted at a predefined time until the reprogramming of each of the plurality of controllers is complete, and the status information is identified based on a response signal received by each controller of the plurality of controllers in response to the update readiness request signal, the response signal corresponding to the operating state of each controller of the plurality of controllers when the vehicle's ignition is switched off.
