Description

[0001] The present application relates to a nail flake product comprising one or more nail flakes for attachment to a fingernail or toenail in the context of nail cosmetics.

[0002] Nail polish is a cosmetic product used to paint fingernails and toenails. It comes in a variety of colors and consists primarily of a polymer, often nitrocellulose, dissolved in a solvent, often butyl acetate or ethyl acetate. It also contains color pigments and often other additives such as resins, plasticizers, gloss agents, or UV absorbers. Nail polish dries in the air and can be easily removed with a solvent mixture, known as nail polish remover. It is easy to apply and widely available. Disadvantages, however, include long drying times and limited durability on the nail.

[0003] In professional manicures, cross-linkable polymer systems are used instead of the aforementioned solvent-based nail polishes. These systems are significantly more durable, but their application and removal are more complex than traditional nail polishes. The so-called gel technique is very common. A gel material made of a UV-reactive, moldable plastic is applied to the nail and then cured under UV light in a few minutes. Before curing, other colored gels and other decorations can be incorporated into the moldable gel material. Most gels are resistant to solvents and must be milled to remove them.

[0004] Another increasingly popular type of nail cosmetic is nail foils. These are thin, self-adhesive foils pre-cut in the shape of fingernails or toenails. Before use, they can be removed from a protective film to which they are attached with an adhesive backing. To apply, they are applied directly to the fingernail, pressed down, and trimmed to the desired shape and length using a nail file. Optionally, they can also be sealed with a clear varnish. To remove, the adhesive is dissolved by either soaking the nail in warm water or soaking it in nail polish remover, and the nail foil can be wiped off.

[0005] The top surface of the nail foils can be plain, patterned, or decorated with motifs. Nail foils can be a great alternative to traditional manicures with nail polish, especially for home use. They have the advantage over nail polishes that patterns and motifs can be easily created. Furthermore, the clear varnish sealant improves their durability compared to regular nail polishes without such a sealant. However, the use of the clear varnish still requires a longer drying time, and their durability cannot be compared to that of cross-linked polymer systems used in professional manicures.

[0006] DE 103 28 413 A1 and US 2014 / 0 150 812 A1 disclose nail plates with a UV-curable gel component. US 2013 / 0 327 350 A1 discloses nail plates that are homogeneously constructed from a gel material and manufactured by injection molding.

[0007] The object of the invention is to provide a manicure that combines the advantages of known nail foils with the advantages of cross-linked polymer systems from professional manicure.

[0008] Against this background, the invention relates to a nail flake product according to claim 1.

[0009] The nail flakes of the nail flake product according to the invention, like nail foils known from the prior art, are thin, self-adhesive structures that are pre-fabricated in the shape of fingernails or toenails and are peeled off a protective film and adhered to the fingernails or toenails for use. In contrast to known nail foils, which are carrier films made of a finished, i.e. no longer further polymerizable or cross-linkable, plastic material that is colored or printed on the upper side, the nail flakes of the nail flake product according to the invention are, apart from the adhesive layer, homogeneous structures made of a gel material in which any pigments or dyes are evenly distributed.

[0010] After the sheet is applied to the nail, the gel material can be cured in just a few minutes under light or UV light, requiring only a standard lamp or UV light. Long drying times and the need for sealing are eliminated. The durability of the cured nail sheets according to the invention is comparable to that of cross-linked polymer systems, the use of which was previously reserved more or less exclusively for professional manicures.

[0011] The adhesive layer is an additional layer whose adhesion to the possibly pre-treated nail is higher than that of the gel material.

[0012] The nail foil is preferably between 0.5 and 2 mm thick, especially 0.75 mm to 1.25 mm thick. It is therefore preferably somewhat thicker than conventional nail foils.

[0013] It is preferred that the gel material be homogeneously colored. The color pigments or dyes are preferably distributed homogeneously throughout the matrix of the gel material, as this is the easiest way to achieve this during production. The color can be opaque or translucent.

[0014] In variants of the invention, in addition to or as an alternative to coloring, a motif or pattern can also be incorporated into the nail leaflet by means of an uneven distribution of pigments within the gel material or other decoration in the form of crystal stones, mica flakes or dried flowers.

[0015] The gel material is dimensionally stable in the sense that it behaves like a viscoelastic fluid, but its storage modulus is significantly larger than its loss modulus, so it does not flow.

[0016] The gel material can be a secondary valence gel whose disperse phase is formed by light-crosslinkable and, in particular, UV-crosslinkable macromolecules. The gel material can comprise acrylate oligomers or polymers as the disperse phase. Examples of suitable acrylate oligomers or polymers include polyacrylic acid or various acrylate copolymers, such as methacrylic acid-acrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer. The gel material can comprise liquid crosslinkable molecules, such as monomeric acrylates, as a dispersant. Suitable monomeric acrylates that are liquid at room temperature include, for example, glycerol propoxylate and triacrylate.

[0017] The gel material is preferably a secondary valence gel, the dispersed phase of which is formed by light-crosslinkable, and in particular UV-crosslinkable, macromolecules linked by non-covalent bonds. The macromolecules are preferably acrylate oligomers. The dispersant of the gel preferably comprises liquid crosslinkable molecules, for example, monomeric acrylates. In addition, the gel material typically contains photoinitiators, pigments, and other additives such as fillers, perfumes, etc., evenly distributed throughout the material's matrix.

[0018] The dispersed phase of the gel material, for example consisting of acrylate oligomers or polymers, can make up 80-90 wt.% of the total mass of the gel. For example, the gel material can contain 10-20 wt.% polyacrylic acid and 60-70 wt.% acrylate copolymers, provided that the two components together make up 80-90 wt.% of the total mass of the gel material.

[0019] The dispersant of the gel, for example consisting of liquid monomeric acrylates, together with photoinitiators, pigments and other additives, can make up a total of about 10-20 wt.% of the total mass of the gel, with at least 10 wt.% being the dispersant.

[0020] The nail plates are preferably arranged individually within the packaging. Alternatively, the nail plates can be connected via predetermined breaking points within a larger sheet of gel material.

[0021] The nail plate(s) are coated with a protective film on one side, preferably on both sides. The protective film(s) constitute part of the protective packaging. The protective film can be, for example, waxed or siliconized paper or a plastic film. The protective film on the underside is necessary to prevent damage to the adhesive layer and to enable the nail plate to be removed from it before use. To protect the gel material and taking into account the fact that the gel material may have certain adhesive properties, lamination with a protective film on both sides is particularly preferred. At least one of the protective films, in particular a protective film covering the top of the nail plate, can be transparent to make the design of the nail plate visible from the outside.

[0022] For example, it can be provided that several isolated nail plates are arranged in an orderly arrangement of one, two or more rows on a common protective film or between two common protective films.

[0023] Furthermore, the protective packaging can comprise a light-tight and / or UV-tight film. The protective films themselves can be designed as light-tight and / or UV-tight films. Alternatively or additionally, the nail plates or arrangements of nail plates arranged on the protective film or between the protective films can be arranged in an outer packaging, for example, an envelope made of a light-tight and / or UV-tight film. Suitable UV-tight films can be transparent or designed as a sunscreen film, which absorbs not only UV light but also at least parts of the visible spectrum.

[0024] The nail flakes of the nail flake product according to the invention are suitable for use in nail cosmetics for attachment to a fingernail or toenail.

[0025] In particular, the invention further relates to a method for nail cosmetics using a nail plate of a nail plate product according to the invention, in which the nail plate is glued to the nail and then cured under light or UV light.

[0026] Before applying the nail leaf, it's best to remove the protective film on the underside. To apply the nail leaf, lightly press the underside of the leaf onto the nail with your fingertip or a suitable stamp.

[0027] The light treatment, and in particular UV light treatment, can last between 15 seconds and 5 minutes, preferably between 20 seconds and 2 minutes, and more preferably between 30 and 60 seconds. UV-LED lamps are preferably used. The power of the lamp or UV lamp used can be between 10 and 50 W, preferably between 20 and 40 W.

[0028] Before curing, the sheet should be trimmed to the desired shape and length, preferably using a suitable tool such as a nail file or scissors. After curing, it can still be trimmed, but the material will be significantly harder and more brittle.

[0029] Further details and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the exemplary embodiments described below with reference to the figures. The figures show: Fig. 1: a nail leaflet product according to the invention comprising a row of nail leaflets in a first arrangement; and Fig. 2: a nail leaflet product according to the invention comprising a series of nail leaves in an alternative arrangement.

[0030] In both figures, arrangements 10 of nail plates 100 are shown.

[0031] In both cases, the 100 nail flakes are pre-assembled in the shape of a fingernail. They consist of a secondary valence gel consisting of 10-20 wt.% polyacrylic acid, 60-70 wt.% methacrylic acid-acrylic acid-ethyl acetate copolymer (1:1), 10-15 wt.% glycerol propoxylate triacrylate, 3-5 wt.% isopropylthioxanthone as a photoinitiator, and <5 wt.% pigments, fillers, and perfume. All ingredients are homogeneously distributed within the gel. This gel material is dimensionally stable and behaves like a viscoelastic fluid, with a storage modulus significantly greater than its loss modulus. The 100 nail flakes are approximately 1 mm thick, about twice as thick as traditional nail foils.

[0032] On the underside, the nail sheet 100 is provided with an adhesive layer made of a common pressure-sensitive adhesive.

[0033] Furthermore, the nail plates 100 are in both cases coated on both sides with a common protective film 200, wherein the protective film covering the adhesive underside of the nail plate 100 is a siliconized paper, and the protective film covering the upper side of the nail plate 100 is a transparent plastic film. In the embodiment of the Fig. 2, the protective films 200 arranged on both sides are not visible because they are punched in the same shape as the gel material.

[0034] In the example of Fig. 1, the nail plates 100 are arranged individually in an orderly arrangement of two or more rows between the two common protective films. To remove a nail plate 100 from this arrangement 10, the plastic film located on the upper side is pulled up from the respective nail plate 100, the nail plate 100 is then peeled off the siliconized paper located on the underside, and the initially raised plastic film is then lowered again to protect the remaining nail plates 100 of the arrangement 10.

[0035] In the example of Fig. 2, the nail plates 100 are formed as part of a larger sheet 100a made of the gel material and can be peeled off from the remaining part of the arrangement 10 along punched predetermined breaking lines (not shown) that penetrate both the gel material and the protective films 200. To remove a nail plate 100 from this arrangement 10, the respective nail plate 100 is first peeled off along the predetermined breaking line, before first peeling off the plastic film from the top side and then peeling off the siliconized paper from the underside of the nail plate 100.

[0036] The 100 nail plates thus separated from the 10 arrangement are then pressed onto the fingernail with their undersides, applying light pressure, so that they adhere. The nail plates are then trimmed to the desired shape and length with a nail file. Finally, they are cured for approximately 60 seconds under a standard UV LED lamp.

[0037] The production of the Fig. 1 and Fig. The arrangements 10 shown in Figure 2 can be carried out in such a way that the plastic film is provided on a web, the gel material is then applied to this film, the upper underside of the gel material is then glued and finally the siliconized paper is placed on top.
