Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a pair of glasses.
[0002] Conventional eyeglasses typically consist of a frame into which a left and right lens can be inserted during a process called lens fitting—usually by an optician—along with left and right temples, each of which is pivotally and detachably connected to the frame. The frame of conventional eyeglasses is often designed so that, after the left lens is inserted, the upper section of the frame is screwed to a lower left section to secure the left lens in place. Similarly, after the right lens is inserted, the upper section of the frame is screwed to a lower right section to secure the right lens in place.
[0003] A common problem with conventional eyeglasses is that handling a screwdriver poses a risk of damaging the frame, both at the screw connection and on the temple. Furthermore, removing the temple may be necessary to allow the worker access to the screw connection. This makes fitting the lenses relatively time-consuming. Additionally, removing the temple from the frame also carries the risk of damaging, particularly scratching, both the frame and temple.
[0004] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide an improved pair of glasses in which the aforementioned disadvantage is largely, preferably even completely, eliminated.
[0005] This problem is solved by the subject matter of the independent patent claims. Preferred embodiments are the subject matter of the dependent patent claims.
[0006] The basic idea of the invention is therefore to design a screw connection provided on the spectacle frame at the transition area to the temple for fastening two frame elements together in such a way that access to the screw connection with a screwdriver is simplified. For this purpose, it is proposed to arrange the screw connection at an acute angle of at least 8° relative to the extension of the temple, so that the handling of a screwdriver – typically used to tighten or loosen the screw connection – also takes place at an angle of 8° or more relative to the temple. This significantly reduces the risk of damage to the temple, as well as to the spectacle frame, by the screwdriver. Furthermore, it is no longer necessary to remove the temple from the frame for tightening. This considerably simplifies the process of fitting lenses to the spectacles. It also prevents unwanted damage to the glasses from scratches or similar issues, such as those that can occur during the removal of the temple from the frame.
[0007] To realize the inventive concept described above, spectacles according to the invention comprise a spectacle frame in which a left and a right lens are held. The spectacles further comprise two temples connected to the spectacle frame. The left lens is arranged between an upper frame element and a lower left frame element of the spectacle frame. The upper frame element and the lower left frame element of the spectacle frame can enclose the left lens. The right lens is arranged between the upper frame section and a lower right frame element of the spectacle frame. The upper frame element and the lower right frame element of the spectacle frame can enclose the right lens. The upper frame section is firmly connected to both the lower left and the lower right frame elements in a central area between the two lenses. In particular, the upper mounting section, as well as the lower left and lower right mounting sections, can be integrally formed together in the central area, i.e., manufactured as a single piece and from a single material. The upper mounting element and the lower left mounting element extend along a common left-hand direction of extension within a shared left-hand bracket mounting area and are also detachably fastened to one another by means of a left-hand screw connection extending along a left-hand direction of connection. The upper mounting element and the lower right mounting element extend along a common right-hand direction of extension within a shared right-hand bracket mounting area and are detachably fastened to one another by means of a right-hand screw connection extending along a right-hand direction of connection.
[0008] According to the invention, the left connection direction and the left extension direction are arranged at an acute angle of at least 8° to each other in a top view of the glasses. This allows the upper frame element to be screwed to the lower left frame element without having to detach the left temple from the frame. Alternatively or additionally, in a top view of the glasses, the right connection direction and the right extension direction are arranged at an acute angle of at least 8° to each other. This allows the upper frame element to be screwed to the lower right frame element without having to detach the right temple from the frame.
[0009] The left acute angle is particularly preferably at least 15°, preferably at least 25°. Alternatively or additionally, the right acute angle is particularly preferably at least 15°, preferably at least 25°. Such a geometry ensures that the respective temple of the spectacles does not, or only to an insignificant extent, impair the accessibility of the associated screw connection with a screw tool, in particular with a screwdriver.
[0010] In a preferred embodiment, the left screw connection is arranged on the side of the upper and lower left mounting elements facing the right screw connection. Alternatively or additionally, in this embodiment, the right screw connection is arranged on the side of the upper and lower right mounting elements facing the left screw connection. Both variants improve the accessibility of the respective screw connection.
[0011] In another preferred embodiment, the upper mounting element can have a U-shaped geometry with a first and a second leg in the left and / or right bracket mounting area. In this embodiment, the extension of the first leg along the left or right direction is greater than the extension of the second leg. The lower left or right mounting element forms an extension of the second leg along the respective left or right direction. In this embodiment, the second leg of the upper mounting element is detachably connected to the lower left or right mounting element by means of the left or right screw connection.
[0012] According to an advantageous embodiment, the left screw connection is arranged in a two-part left screw block of the spectacles. A first screw block part of the left screw block is fixedly connected to the upper frame element, and a second screw block part of the left screw block is fixedly connected to the lower left frame element. Preferably, the first screw block part can be integrally formed on the upper frame element, and the second screw block part can be integrally formed on the lower left frame element. In other words, the first screw block part and the upper frame element are formed in one piece and from a single material. Similarly, the second screw block part and the lower left frame element are formed in one piece and from a single material.
[0013] Alternatively or additionally, in this further development, the right screw connection is arranged in a two-part right screw block of the spectacle. A first screw block part of the right screw block is fixedly connected to the upper frame element, and a second screw block part of the right screw block is fixedly connected to the lower right frame element. Preferably, the first screw block part can be integrally formed on the upper frame element, and the second screw block part can be integrally formed on the lower right frame element. In other words, the first screw block part and the upper frame element are formed in one piece and from a single material. Similarly, the second screw block part and the lower right frame element are formed in one piece and from a single material. This advanced training is structured in a particularly simple way, resulting in an improved design of the glasses and a particularly simple and therefore comparatively cost-effective manufacturing process.
[0014] According to a further advantageous embodiment, the two screw block parts of the left and / or right screw block are arranged consecutively and abutting each other along the left and right directions of extension, respectively. In this embodiment, each screw block part of the left and right screw block has a screw receptacle with an internal thread extending along the left and right directions, respectively. These threads merge into one another along the direction of extension, so that a threaded screw with an external thread can be screwed into, or is screwed into, the two consecutive internal threads to fix the two screw block parts together. This embodiment is technically very simple and also advantageously requires very little installation space.
[0015] Particularly preferred is the left and / or right screw block designed such that the threaded screw can be screwed in or is screwed in on a side of the screw block facing away from the spectacle lenses. This improves the accessibility of the screw block for a worker using a screw tool, in particular a screwdriver.
[0016] It is particularly advantageous if at least one of the two screw receptacles is designed as a through-hole. This allows the two screw receptacles to be manufactured very simply and therefore cost-effectively.
[0017] The two screw receptacles of the left and / or right screw block are preferably aligned with each other along the respective connection direction. This allows a worker to easily screw a threaded screw into the screw receptacle.
[0018] The acute angle is particularly advantageous because it lies in a plane traversed by the temple of the glasses when adjusting between the wearing and stowing positions. This geometry facilitates access to the screw connection, especially for a worker using a screwdriver.
[0019] In another preferred embodiment, the left temple of the glasses is pivotally connected to the left temple attachment area. Alternatively or additionally, in this further development, the right temple of the glasses can be pivotally connected to the right temple attachment area.
[0020] According to an advantageous embodiment, both temples of the glasses can be pivoted between a wearing position and a storage position. In this embodiment, the left temple extends along the left direction in the wearing position, and, alternatively or additionally, the right temple extends along the right direction in the wearing position.
[0021] In a further preferred embodiment of the spectacles according to the invention, the spectacle frame has a temple attachment section extending at an angle, preferably substantially at a right angle, to the longitudinal direction of the frame for connecting it to the at least one temple. The temple attachment section may be bent relative to a main section of the spectacle frame in which the lenses of the spectacles are also arranged. Typically, the temple attachment section is arranged at an angle of approximately 90° to the main section. However, larger angles of up to 100°, up to 110°, or even up to 120° are also conceivable in variations.
[0022] In another preferred embodiment, two hinges are provided for each of the two temples of the glasses, wherein the two hinges are each designed to pivot about a common axis of rotation which extends along a vertical direction.
[0023] Further important features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the dependent claims, the drawings and the associated description of the figures based on the drawings.
[0024] It is understood that the features mentioned above and those to be explained below can be used not only in the combination specified, but also in other combinations or on their own, without leaving the scope of the present invention.
[0025] Preferred embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawings and are explained in more detail in the following description, wherein identical reference numerals refer to identical or similar or functionally identical components.
[0026] They show, schematically: Fig. 1 An example of eyeglasses according to the invention, in which the temples are arranged in a wearing position, in a top view from above, Fig. 2 the glasses of the Fig. 1 in a front view of the two lenses of the glasses, Fig. 3 a left temple of the glasses Fig. 1 in a top view, Fig. 4. a right temple of the glasses Fig. 1 in a top view, Fig. 5 a perspective detail view of the glasses of the Fig. 1 in the area of the left bracket mounting area, Fig. 6 the representation of the Fig. 5 in an exploded view.
[0027] The Fig. Figure 1 shows an example of a pair of glasses 1 according to the invention in a top view of the glasses 1 from above. Fig. Figure 2 shows a front view of the glasses 1. Fig. 1. According to the Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 The glasses 1 comprise a spectacle frame 2 in which a left and a right spectacle lens 4l, 4r of the glasses 1 are received and thus held. The left lens 4l is arranged between an upper frame element 5 and a lower left frame element 6l of the spectacle frame 2 (cf. Fig. 2) The right lens 4r is positioned between the upper frame section 5 and a lower right frame element 6r of the frame 2. The upper frame section 5 is firmly connected in a central area 17 between the two lenses 4l, 4r to both the lower left and the lower right frame elements 6l, 6r.
[0028] The glasses 1 include according to Fig. 1 two each swivel and also detachable from the spectacle frame 2 connected spectacle temples 3l, 3r (in Fig. 2 not shown). The Fig. Figure 3 shows a left temple 3l of the glasses 1 of the Fig. 1 in an enlarged partial view and in a top view, which Fig. 4 a right temple 3r of the glasses 1 of the Fig. 1 in an enlarged partial view and in a top view. The two temples 3, 3l, 3r can each be pivoted between a wearing position and a storage position. Fig. Figure 1 shows the two temples of the glasses 3l, 3r in the wearing position.
[0029] The right temple 3r extends in the top view along the right extension direction RER in the wearing position.
[0030] According to the Fig. 1 to 4 the upper frame element 5 and the lower left frame element 6l extend in a common left temple attachment area 7l in a top view of the glasses 1 along a common left extension direction LER.
[0031] The left temple arm 3l also extends along the left extension direction LER in the top view when in the wearing position.
[0032] The upper socket element 5 and the lower left socket element 6l are also detachably fastened to each other in the left bracket mounting area 7l by means of a left screw connection 8l extending along a left connection direction LVR, in addition to the fixed connection mentioned above in the central area 17 of the upper socket section 5.
[0033] This allows the left lens 4l to be mounted on the frame 2. For this purpose, the left lens 4l is positioned between the upper frame element 5 and the lower left frame element 6l with the left screw connection 8l loosened. Then, the upper frame element 5 and the lower left frame element 6l are fastened together in the left temple attachment area 7l using the left screw connection 8l, thus connecting them. It is not necessary to detach the left temple 3l from the temple 2. In this way, the left lens 4l is placed in a left frame 18l formed by the upper frame element 5 and the lower left frame element 6l (see figure). Fig. 2) fixed.
[0034] The upper frame element 5 and the lower right frame element 6r extend in a top view of the spectacles 1 along a common right temple attachment area 7r and a common right extension direction RER. The right temple 3r also extends along the right extension direction RER in the top view when worn. In addition to the aforementioned fixed connection in the central area 17 of the upper frame section 5, the upper frame element 5 and the lower right frame element 6r are detachably fastened to one another in the right temple attachment area 7r by means of a right screw connection 8r extending along a right connection direction LVR. This allows the right lens 4r to be mounted on the spectacle frame 2. For this purpose, the right lens 4r is positioned between the upper frame element 5 and the lower right frame element 6r with the right screw connection 8r loosened. The upper frame element 5 and the lower right frame element 6r are then attached to each other in the right temple attachment area 7r using the right screw connection 8l. It is not necessary to detach the left temple 3l from the temple 2 for this purpose. In this way, the right lens 4r is placed in a right frame 18r formed by the upper frame element 5 and the lower right frame element 6r (see figure). Fig. 2) fixed.
[0035] As the Fig. 1, Fig. 3, Fig. 4 and Fig. As illustrated in Figure 5, the left screw connection 8l is located on a side 13 of the upper socket element 5 and the lower left socket element 6l facing the right screw connection 8r. Similarly, the right screw connection 8r is located on a side 14 of the upper socket element 5 and the lower right socket element 6l facing the left screw connection 8r.
[0036] In this example, the left and right extension directions LER, RER run essentially parallel to each other. The left and right extension directions LER, RER extend essentially orthogonally to a frame direction FHR, along which the spectacle frame 2 extends with a main frame section 19 in which the two spectacle lenses 4l, 4r (cf. Fig. 2) follow one another. The phrase "essentially" means that deviations from the aforementioned parallel or orthogonal course LER, RER, FHR in the respective directions are possible up to an intermediate angle of 3°. The two bracket attachment areas 7l, 7r can be bent relative to the main mounting section 19 as shown.
[0037] As the Fig. 1, Fig. 3 , Fig. 4 and Fig. As can be seen in Figure 5, the left connection direction LVR and the left extension direction LER are arranged at a left acute angle α-l of approximately 8° to each other in a top view of the glasses 1 from above (see Figure 5). Fig. 3) Likewise, the right connecting direction RVR and the right extension direction RER are arranged at a right acute angle α-r, of approximately 8° to each other (see Figure 1). Fig. 4) In variations of the example, the left angle α-l or the right angle α-r can also be greater than 8°. In particular, values of at least 15° or even at least 25° are conceivable for the left and right acute angles α-l and α-r, respectively. In the example, the left acute angle α-l is arranged in a plane traversed by the left temple 4l when adjusting between the wearing position and the stowed position. Similarly, the right acute angle α-r is arranged in a plane traversed by the right temple 4r when adjusting between the wearing position and the stowed position.
[0038] The Fig. Figure 5 is a perspective detail view of the glasses 1 in the area of the left temple attachment area 7l, which Fig. 6 is an exploded view of the Fig. 5.
[0039] According to the Fig. 5 and Fig. 6. The upper frame element 5 can have a U-shaped geometry with a first and a second leg 13.1, 13.2 in the left and / or right temple attachment area 7l. The extension E1 of the first leg 13.1 along the left extension direction LER is greater than the extension E2 of the second leg 13.2. The lower left frame element 6l forms an extension 20 of the second leg 13.2 along the left extension direction LER. The second leg 13.2 of the upper frame element 5 is detachably connected to the lower left frame element 6l by means of the left screw connection 8l. Furthermore, the left screw connection 8l is arranged in a two-part left screw block 9l of the spectacle 1. A first screw block part 10.1l of the left screw block 9l is firmly connected to the upper mounting element 5, and a second screw block part 10.The first screw block part 10.1l is firmly connected to the lower left mounting element 6l. Preferably, the first screw block part 10.1l can be integrally formed on the upper mounting element 5, and the second screw block part 10.2l can be integrally formed on the lower left mounting element 6l. In other words, the first screw block part 10.1l and the upper mounting element 6l are formed in one piece and from a single material. Similarly, the second screw block part 10.2l and the lower left mounting element 6l are formed in one piece and from a single material.
[0040] How the representation of Fig. 5 and Fig. As illustrated in Figure 6, the two screw block parts 10.11, 10.2l of the left screw block 9l are arranged consecutively and adjacent to each other along the left and right extension directions LER, respectively. Each of the two screw block parts 10.1l, 10.2l of the left screw block 9l has a screw receptacle 11.1l, 11.2l with an internal thread extending along the left extension direction LER, which merge into one another along the left extension direction LER. To fix the two left screw block parts 10l.1, 10l.2 to each other, a threaded screw 12l with an external thread can be screwed into the two consecutive internal threads. In this example, the left screw block 9l is designed such that the threaded screw 12l can be screwed into a side 15 of the left screw block 9l facing away from the spectacle lenses 4l, 4r. The two screw mounts 11.11, 11.The two screw blocks of the left 9l are aligned along the LVR connection direction. Each of the two screw receptacles 11.11, 11.2l can be designed as a through-hole.
[0041] The preceding explanations regarding the left screw block 9l according to the Fig. 5 and Fig. 6 also apply mutatis mutandis to the example scenario in the Fig. 5 and Fig. 6 not shown right screw block 9r, so that to clarify this fact in the Fig. 5 and Fig. 6 the corresponding reference symbol is supplemented by a bracketed (r).
