Marking process and marked workpiece

Abstract

In at least one embodiment, the marking method is used for marking workpieces (1) and comprises the following steps: - Providing a metallic base body (2) for a workpiece (1) with a workpiece side (20), - Creating recesses (31) in the workpiece side (20), wherein the recesses (31) define an information content of a marking (3), and applying a marking material (5) so that the marking material (5) enters the recesses (31), wherein the marking material (5) is in direct contact with the base body (2), and - Performing a hot forming of the base body (2) with the marking (3) so that the workpiece (1) is created.
